July 14 – 15, 2017 Incidents

Pursuit 

Police were involved in a short pursuit in the center of the city last night around 9:20 pm.  Officers had observed the vehicle commit several Highway Traffic Act infractions.  As they initiated a traffic stop the vehicle sped away at a high rate of speed going through a set of traffic lights.  The driver eventually made the error of turning onto a dead end street.   The driver attempted to leave on foot, but was quickly arrested.  The local 57 year old male was charged with dangerous driving, flight from police and served a 30 day suspension.

 

Fail to remain pedestrian struck

Today at 9:15 am a local pedestrian was on the sidewalk at Tim Horton’s on Parkedale Ave. when she was struck by a white GMC (either a truck or SUV) leaving the restaurant.  The pedestrian suffered minor physical injuries.   Police are seeking any witnesses to the incident to call.

 

Criminal Harassment

A 32 year old male was arrested and held for bail after police investigated a complaint of criminal harassment.
