Warrants Executed at Court
A 17 year old Brockville youth and a 21 year old male surrendered themselves to police at Brockville Court yesterday after learning there were outstanding warrants for their arrests
In the first incident, the youth attended court and turned himself in to Brockville Police court staff who confirmed the outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on a previous occasion. He was taken into custody at that time and will appear in youth court this morning for a bail hearing.
Shortly after 4 pm the 21 year old male turned himself in at Brockville Court for an outstanding warrant issued when he failed to attend for his March 24th court appearance. At the time the court had closed for the day and he was held in custody and will appear today for a bail hearing this afternoon.
Breach of Recognizance
A 33 year old Ottawa man is in custody for Breaching his Recognizance following a traffic stop last evening.
Officers spotted the vehicle on King Street West in the area of St. Lawrence Park last evening 10:30 pm and stooped the vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, who is known to police, was found to be on a Recognizance of Bail for previous impaired driving charges with a curfew to be inside his Ottawa residence at the time of the stop.
As a result he was arrested for Breaching his Recognizance and found to be in possession of various drug paraphernalia and his 17 year old passenger found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.
As a result, the 33 year old man was held in custody and will appear for a bail hearing later today.
Mischief
Yesterday morning Brockville Police received a call from the Brockville Country Club reporting mischief to one of the fairways.
Sometime over the last week, unknown person(s) attended to the fairway and carved an object into the grass causing minor damage.
While yesterday’s incident is minor, it continues a disturbing trend for the Country Club which has been victimized a number of times over the winter months. The Club’s workshop off of Centre Street has been broken into twice and golf carts have been stolen and vandalized.
