August 26 – 27, 2019 Incidents

Weapons:

On August 27th, 2019 around 1:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a north end residence to check on the wellbeing of a female.  Officers attended the address and realized that the male in the residence was on court ordered conditions not to be around the female.  The male refused to open the door to officers. Fearing for the safety of the female, officers made entry to the apartment and were met by a male armed with a golf club and a large kitchen knife.  Officers successfully deployed a conducted energy weapon on the male.  The 31 year old male was taken into custody and will be appearing for a bail hearing today. He has been charged with assault police. The female was not in the apartment, but was located after the incident. 

Motor Vehicle Collision:

On the 27th of August 2019 at 10:36 p.m. police along with paramedics responded to “child struck” motor vehicle collision at the 1 Magedoma Blvd, the Memorial Centre Parking lot.  It was reported that a 7 year old boy was clipped by a SUV.  The child was transported to Brockville General Hospital for minor injuries. 

Hockey rinks and ball diamonds are busy spots this time of year; please use caution and reduce your speed. 

Stabbing:

On the 27th of August, 2019 at approximately 11:15 p.m. members of the Brockville Police Service responded to a stabbing that occurred in the area of John Street and Pearl Street West in the City of Brockville. As a result of the incident, a male was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident, or who feel they have information relevant to the investigation. Counterfeit:

On the 3rd of August 2019 at 8:50 p.m. an unknown suspect entered the Tim Horton’s on Jefferson Dr. and used a counterfeit $100.  We are asking the public’s assistance in identifying the male.  Members of the public are asked to contact the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127.
