Missing Person

On July 6th at approximately 9:40 pm, Brockville Police attended to a local outpatient home to look into a missing resident.

The local, 23 year old male, had wondered away from the home and staff needed help trying to locate him.  The male was eventually located several blocks from the residence and escorted to the hospital.  He was fine from a physical health stand point.

Assistance

On July 6th at approximately 2:10 pm, Brockville Police attended a residence in the south end of town in regards to female who was in distress.

A local, 20 year old female, was out of control in the residence, breaking items and refusing to follow direction.  She was apprehended under the mental health act and taken to hospital.  After being evaluated, it was determined she would benefit from a term within the facility.

Public Intoxication

On July 6th at approximately 1:00 am, Brockville Police responded to the Court House Square in regards to a male party passed out on the grass.  A local, 44 year old male, was located and arrested for public intoxication as Police had concerns about his ability to look after himself.  He was released when sober with a fine.

Public Intoxication

On July 5th at approximately 11:50 pm, Brockville Police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated male riding a bicycle downtown.

Officers located the 57 year old, local male and noted injuries to his one eye and elbow. Medical assistance was called for but the subject refused any treatment. He was arrested for public intoxication for his own protection. He was released with a fine when sober.

Impaired Driving

On July 5th at approximately 11:30 pm, Brockville Police stopped a vehicle on Bartholomew Street for a traffic violation.

The 45 year old, male driver was currently camping in the area but hails from the Kingston area. He was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified due to four separate convictions for impaired driving, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified. An arrest warrant was also in effect from our Service for failing to attend court and breaching release conditions. The subject was currently on conditions of another recognizance and officer in charge undertaking. Police also discovered a quantity of marijuana and another charge stemmed from possessing the drug.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days and a total of 10 criminal code charges were laid as a result of the stop. The male was remanded into custody and faces a bail hearing.

Family Dispute

On July 4th at approximately 12:25 pm, Brockville Police responded to a residence in the south end of town for a father and son dispute.

During the dispute, the local 19 year old broke a window in the residence and would not settle down.  He was also on probation conditions and numerous release conditions from outstanding charges.  The young man was charged with the breaches and the mischief to the window. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court today.

Theft from Vehicles

On July 4th at approximately 2:15 am, Brockville Police responded to the Grenville Court area in regards to a group of youths entering vehicles.

Two of the three youths were dealt with at the scene after initially trying to run from Police. They entered into a diversionary program to take place in the future. The boys were 13 and 14 years of age.  A third youth, 15 years old, will be dealt with when located.

The diversionary programs offer Police and young people options for penalty instead of putting them through the court system.

Workplace Injury

On July 3rd at approximately 9:30 am, Brockville Police responded to a workplace injury incident on California Avenue.

A 75 year old male had suffered severe injuries to one of his hands.

The subject was taken to hospital for treatment and the Ministry of Labour was advised.

Suspicious Person

On July 2nd at approximately 1:20 am, Brockville Police responded to the parking lot of a north end apartment complex.

Police had received calls of a young male trying to enter a vehicle.  Police K9 unit attended the area to start a search as the male had fled on foot.  The young man returned to the scene when he discovered the Police dog was on his trail.  The vehicle was actually his but he took off in fear when seeing Police as he had been drinking.  No charges as a result.

Public Intoxication

On July 2nd at approximately 12:20 am, Brockville Police responded to a King Street business to deal with a passed out male out front.  A local, 29 year old male was arrested for public intoxication as he was incapable of looking after himself.  He was released with a fine when sober.
