Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident

At approximately 230hrs this morning officers of the Brockville Police Service responded to a complaint of a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Abbott Street between Maple Street and Dales Avenue.

The suspect vehicle was travelling on Abbott Street when it struck a parked Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck, and was last seen headed east on Abbott toward Perth Street. It is described as being a large grey pick-up truck, unknown make and having damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Theft

SuspectThe Brockville Police are also seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male responsible for a theft from a local taxi on Sunday.

A City Cab driver parked his vehicle in front of the taxi company’s office shortly after 9pm on Sunday evening when he observed a male subject enter the vehicle. When he went to check his vehicle he noticed his cell phone and some money was missing. The cab driver observed the suspect on King St and took chase locating him in the Mac’s Milk on King St. At Mac’s the suspect fled before police arrived and is still at large and the investigation is ongoing. Suspect is described as male, with short dark hair, moustache, slender build and at the time was wearing a red t-shirt.

June 13-15 Weekend Incidents

Over the weekend the Brockville Police Services responded to 94 calls for service from Friday evening until Monday morning, including 7 domestic disturbances over this time period.

On Saturday evening officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a Cartier Court residence. Once at the residence, they located a 26yr old male hiding in the closet who had been drinking. The male initially gave officers a false name and later it was learned he was at large on an Undertaking from previous charges with a condition not to consume alchol. As a result he was arrested and held for a bail hearing Monday.

A 43yr old Brockville man was arrested Sunday in connection with a report of a stolen vehicle from Saturday night. Brockville Police received a call about a vehicle being stolen from the parking lot at 5H Glenngarry Rd where residents had observed the suspect getting into the vehicle and drive off. The vehicle was later located that night abandoned on Bartholomew St. On Sunday, the suspect was located and arrested for theft of the vehicle and held for a Monday bail hearing.

Intoxicated Male

On June 12th at approximately 1:20 am, Brockville Police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the King St. W. area.

The local, 45 year old, was found to be breaching conditions of an undertaking in relation to outstanding criminal charges.  He was arrested and charged for the breach and will appear in bail court later today.

 

Deer in the City

On June 11th at approximately 12:0pm, Brockville Police responded to a deer stuck in the rear yard at a James St. residence.

The deer was tranquilized by members of the Ministry of Natural Resources and released outside of city limits.

Missing Person Located

On June 11th at approximately 10:25 am, Brockville Police took a report of a missing person concerning a local 49 year old, local male.

Investigation revealed the subject had actually been involved in a motor vehicle accident outside of the city.  Because Brockville Police had flagged his plate number, it revealed concerns involving the male when ran by another Police agency.  The subject was taken to hospital for non life threatening injuries.  His current status is unknown.

 

Assault

On June 9th, Brockville Police responded to a residence in the south end of town to investigate an assault complaint.

A 15 year old male was reporting being assaulted by another male, 17 years of age.

The older youth was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on conditions with a future court date.  The 15 year old victim suffered minor injuries.

 

Breach of Conditions

On June 9th at approximately 3:00 pm, Brockville Police responded to an apartment building on King St. to check on a male parties well being.

Police located the 45 year old and found him to be at an address he is prohibited from attending.  The accused was on conditions from previous charges that spelled out locations he could not attend as well as an address he was supposed to be residing.  The party was found to be breaching three different conditions.  He was charged with breaching his recognizance and will face a bail hearing.

Assault

On June 9th, Brockville Police responded to an assault complaint at one of the high schools.

A 15 year old female, assaulted a 17 year old male. The injuries were minor in nature.

The female was released on conditions with a future court date.

 

Assault

On June 8th, Brockville Police received a complaint of an assault that took place over the weekend.

The 25 year old, male victim, was jumped while standing outside a downtown bar.  Investigation has led to the arrest of a 35 year old, local male.  The victim suffered minor injuries.

The accused was released on conditions and given a future court date.
