Public Intoxication

On July 2nd at approximately 12:20 am, Brockville Police responded to a King Street business to deal with a passed out male out front.  A local, 29 year old male was arrested for public intoxication as he was incapable of looking after himself.  He was released with a fine when sober.

Medical Assistance

On July 1st at approximately 10:00 pm, Brockville Police responded to a King Street residence in regards to a female party with injuries.

A local, 51 year old, had fallen off her porch roof while trying to get a better view of the Canada Day fireworks. She was taken to hospital by ambulance and suffered serious injuries.

Public Intoxication

On July 1st at approximately 4:50 am, Police responded to a residence in the north end after an unknown male rang the doorbell at the home.

Police located a local, 45 year old male who is known to Police.  He was intoxicated and confused.  Police provided a place for him to sober up and he was released without any charges.

Fire

On June 30th at approximately 11:15 pm, Brockville Police responded to a fire in the dumpster at the rear parking lot of the Goodwill store.

Police believe the fire was intentionally set.  There was damage as a result to items within.  Please contact Police if you have any information that may be useful.

Disturbance

On June 30th at approximately 6:40 pm, Brockville Police responded to a south end residence for a disturbance complaint.

A local, 47 year old male was intoxicated and causing problems within the residence.  He was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace as Police received more than one call to the residence.  He was released unconditionally when sober.

Family Dispute

On June 30th at approximately 5:30 pm, Brockville Police responded to an apartment complex in the center of the city for a family dispute.

Police discovered a 15 year old male had assaulted both of his parents.  The youth did not agree with the rules of the household.  He was charged with two counts of assault.

A bail hearing will take place today for his possible release from custody.

Shoplifting

On June 30th at approximately 2:00 pm, Brockville Police responded to a north end box store for a shoplifting complaint.

Two local males were arrested and charged with theft.  An 18 year old, local male was released on conditions with a future court date.  The other 19 year old male was the party wanted for the domestic related charges in the incident mentioned above.  As a result, the 19 year old was informed of the other charges he faced and was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Domestic Dispute

On June 29th at approximately 5:45 pm, Brockville Police responded to a domestic dispute situation where allegations of assault and theft were investigated. A local, 19 year old male was being sought by Police in relation to these offences. There were no injuries as a result of the assault.

Shoplifting

On June 29th at approximately 2:00 pm, Brockville Police responded to the Superstore on Parkedale Ave. in regards to a shoplifter.

Police dealt with a local, 39 year old male. He was charged under the Trespass to Property Act and issued a fine.

At approximately 6:30 pm, Brockville Police responded to the Superstore on Parkedale Ave. in regards to a shoplifter. Police dealt with a local, 48 year old male.
He was charged with Theft Under and released at the scene with a future court date.

Sometimes we can read what appears to be the same story with the same circumstances involving shoplifters and whether they are charged criminally or issued a fine. Police use many factors to determine individual cases. Such as, past criminal records, warned for similar behaviour, dollar value involved, taking ownership and several other circumstances are looked at in their totality.

Theft

On June 29th at approximately 7:50 am, Brockville Police responded to a theft complaint in the parking lot of the Comfort Inn on Jefferson Drive.

Sometime over night on Thursday, unknown suspect(s) removed about 600 litres of diesel fuel from a tractor trailer parked on the lot. There are no suspects at this time.
