Break and Enter Arrest

A 17 year old male young offender charged last week in relation to the Break and Enter to “The Many Things Stores” was found by Brockville Police breaching his release conditions by being out past his curfew and arrested and charged with Breach of his Undertaking.

Missing Person Located

A missing 48 year old male from Kingston was located in Brockville on Saturday, January 24th, at the Travelodge in good health. His family and friends were advised.

Theft from Unlocked Locker at YMCA

A quantity of money was taken from an unlocked locker at the YMCA on Saturday, January 24th. The victim is a young student visiting Brockville. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brockville Police or Crimestoppers

Break and Enter Arrest

An 18 yearr old adult male was charged with Break, Enter and Theft and Breaching his Recognizance in relation to the January 5th break-in to “The Many Things Store”. This brings the total number of persons charged in relation to this incident to four.

New Taxi Stand

A reminder to everyone shopping, dining or visiting in the area of King Street East across from City Hall of the NEW Taxi stand parking spaces. The parking spaces are marked and are for taxi’s only. Last evening 2 parking tickets were issued to vehicles parked in these spaces. With the increase in traffic this are over the weekend evening hours Brockville Police would like to remind customers of these new spots and you risk being ticketed if parked in them.

Theft from Vehicles

Brockville Police received a couple of complaints overnight (Jan 22-23) of persons looking into and entering unlocked vehicles both in the west end and north end of the city. Once again, police a reminding residents to lock their vehicles overnight and to take any valuables inside your residence.

Scams

This week Brockville Police have received complaints from persons who have responded to Kijiji Ads and been asked while responding to provide private personal and financial information. We continue to urge the community to be cautious giving any personal or financial information out over the phone or to someone you do not know. If you have and are feeling uneasy about please talk to your local banking branch and advise them and have your accounts monitored.

Disturbance

On January 21st, Brockville Police responded to a complaint last evening of a male in the middle of the intersection at King St W and Broad St lying in the middle of the road. When a citizen tried to assist the male began kicking at her car causing minor damage. The adult male was arrested Breach of his Undertaking, Breach of Probation and Mischief and will appear in Provincial Court later today.

Traffic Initiative

Yesterday the Brockville Police conducted a traffic initiative during the afternoon commute from school at the intersection of Kensington Parkway and Laurier Boulevard. Officers monitored the crossing watching for various highway traffic act infractions at the well-travelled intersection and were happy to report no infractions were observed.

Search Warrant

On January 21st, Brockville Police detectives and uniform personnel executed a search warrant on a King St West apartment late yesterday morning in connection with an ongoing investigation into the break and enter at “The Many Things Store” on King St. One adult male and one young offender were arrested in the apartment and some swords, knives and watches were recovered. (Note: Name of the adult cannot be released at this time because the Information has not been sworn to before the courts)
