February 3 – 4, 2018 Incidents

Officers experienced a relatively quiet 24 hour period from Saturday through to Sunday morning with police responding to 19 calls for service over that time. Included in the 19 calls were three minor motor vehicle collisions, two calls where an unwanted person had to be removed and eventually left as requested without incident, and a minor fire to an apartment door at a King Street West residence.

Motor Vehicle Collisions

At 8:19 a.m. Saturday morning officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the parking lot of the Canadian Tire Gas Bar at the intersection of Parkedale and Stewart. Both vehicles suffered relatively minor damage and were pulled off to the side when officers arrived, and drivers had already exchanged information. There were no injuries in the accident and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

Yesterday afternoon, Brockville Police were dispatched to a collision near the intersection of Brock and Centre Streets in the city’s west end. A resident in the area was backing out of his driveway when he struck a vehicle travelling down the roadway in the right front fender. Again, damage was minimal, there were no injuries and both vehicles could be driven from the scene.

The intersection of John and Pearl Streets was the scene of the third motor vehicle collision late yesterday afternoon. Shortly after 6:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to the intersection where a white Hyundai had struck a no parking sign and eventually stopped on Pearl Street near Perth Streets. The sign was eventually dislodged from under the vehicle and the driver was able to drive the car home. The Hyundai suffered minor damage and the no parking sign will have to be replaced.

Mischief to Apartment Door

The Brockville Fire Department called police for assistance after they responded to an apartment door that was lit on fire early Sunday morning.

Police and Fire Crews responded to a King Street West apartment at 1:50 a.m. on Sunday morning as suspects had set the front door of an apartment on fire. Fire Crews quickly extinguished the fire and contained the damage to the door. Residents in the apartment were not hurt.
