January 12 – 13, 2020 News Release

Break and Enter:

On the 12th of January at 5:50 a.m. the Brockville Police Service was contacted by a witness that had just observed a lone male break the glass to the Heritage Clock Shop on King St. West.  The male then proceeded to remove items and leave the area heading north bound on Buell St.  Officers attended the area; followed the suspect’s foot prints in the snow to a residence on Buell St.  The 27 year old male was located inside the residence and arrested for “break and enter.”  The officers recovered several watches off the suspect. 

 

Public Intoxication:

On the 11th of January 2019 at 5:30 a.m. officers were called to a Pearl St. address for a male that was at the complainant’s front door in an intoxicated state.  Officers arrived at the residence and arrested the male for his own safety.  The male was also charged with mischief as he had damaged the front door to the residence.  He will be appearing in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

 

Stolen vehicle:

A red 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup truck was reported stolen on the 11th of January 2019 at 9:15 a.m.  The vehicle was taken from a residence on Pearl St. East.

 

Suspicious male:

On January 10th the Brockville Police Service responded to the first of four incidents involving a 33 year old male of no fixed address. 

At 10:30 a.m. in the first incident, the male was at the Royal Bank on Parkedale Ave. causing a disturbance at the branch.  Officers spoke with the male at that time and he agreed to leave the bank without incident.

At 2:15 p.m. officers were then called to a restaurant in the on Parkedale Ave as this male had ordered a meal and left without paying.  He was located a short distance away and charged with fraud.

At 6:00 p.m. police located the male on St. Andrew St.  The officers had received a complaint that someone has smashed out a window to a vehicle at the Galaxy Cinema.  After CCTV footage was viewed the officers recognized the male to the same person from the bank and restaurant incident.  He was arrested and charged with mischief and released from the police service with a future court date. 

While attempting to release the male, he assaulted the officer.  The male was then arrested for assaulting a peace officer and was again, placed back in the cell.  He now faces charges of assaulting a peace officer, mischief and fraud accommodation.
