Screws found in driveway

A 28 year old woman is again the victim of mischief to her driveway after someone threw over 100 screws in her driveway overnight Thursday night- Friday morning.

The Bartholomew Street resident reports sometime in between 11 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday morning someone attended to her residence and threw the screws on her driveway behind her vehicle in an attempt to damage the tires as she left her residence. She had reported a previous incident to Police on January 1st this year when nails were left on her driveway.

Warrants Executed

Two men attended to Brockville Court on Friday and surrendered themselves to court officers on outstanding arrest warrants which were out for them.

At 9:30 a.m. a 21 year old Cornwall man surrendered himself to Brockville Police court staff after he failed to appear in court on October 6th of last year on charges of being unlawfully at large from the Brockville Jail where he was serving weekends on an intermittent sentence. He will be appearing for a bail hearing.

Later Friday morning, just before 11 a.m., a 28 year old Brockville man surrendered himself to Court officers after failing to appear for his fingerprints to be taken on October 19th at the Brockville Police Station. He is now facing additional charges of failing to appear and was released from custody with a new court date.

At 4:30 pm on Friday afternoon a third arrest warrant was executed when a 27 year old Brockville woman was located in The Score at the Brockville Shopping Centre. Brockville Police held 2 outstanding warrants for the woman, the first for failing to attend court on Friday January 5th, 2018 and a second Warrant of Committal for breaching her Probation. She was held for a bail hearing at a later date.

On Sunday evening at 7:40 pm. officers spotted a 40 year old Brockville man wanted for a Christmas Day assault in his vehicle on Tunnel Avenue. In the Christmas incident, a family gathering for Christmas dinner led to an argument inside a north end apartment building between family members. The argument turned physical and spilled out into the hallway of the building before it broke up and resulted in the 36 year old victim calling EMS for treatment.

The 40 year old was conveyed to Brockville Police headquarters where he was charged for assault and released from custody with several conditions and a future court date.

 

Bail Violation

A 31 year old former Brockville resident now living in Belleville was arrested early Sunday Morning when he was spotted in a vehicle behind a downtown business with improper licence plates by officers on general patrol.

The man and a 40 year old woman were spotted in a vehicle at 12:45 a.m. Sunday and spoken to by police who learned he was currently at large on a recognizance of bail with conditions that he not be in Leeds County except for court and that he be in his place of residence between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily.

The man was taken into custody and held for bail and his vehicle towed and impounded.
