Theft

On the 21st of January at 9:15 p.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to a theft complaint at the Shopper’s Drug Mart on Parkedale Ave.   A male had been captured on their security footage taking a portable speaker and leaving the store without any attempt to pay.

At 10:15 p.m. police responded to a residence on Pearl Street for a complaint of an unwanted guest.  The complainant wished that two intoxicated persons be removed from her residence.  A 29 year old male was spoken to and identified by police.  Officers recognized the male as the suspect from the theft at Shopper’s Drug Mart.  He was arrested for theft in relation to that occurrence.  The male had warrants for his arrest from Ottawa for failing to attend court.  The Ottawa Police Service was contacted, who then attended and took custody of the male.  He will appear in Brockville at a later date to answer to the theft charge. 

A second male, 40 years of age, was located in the area and arrested for being intoxicated in a public place.  The male was not at the residence on the officer’s arrival.  That male was searched incident to arrest, which led to the discovery of the stolen speaker.  He was charged with being in possession of stolen property and released with a future court date.

 

Impaired:

On the 22nd of January at 1:44 a.m. members from the Brockville Police responded to reports of a possible impaired driver on King St. West.  The vehicle was located and stopped.  The 25 year old driver failed a roadside test and was transported to the station where he registered samples of his breath of nearly double the legal limit.  He was charged with impaired operation and drive with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol.

 

Bail violations:

On January 20th at 9:20 p.m. officers responded to a residence on Bartholomew Street for an unknown disturbance.  A 27 year old male was arrested for breaching a condition of his release by consuming alcohol.  He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

 

Theft:

On the 21st of January police responded to a theft complaint on Lancaster Ave. A storage locker was broken into several collectible dolls were taken (please see the attached photo).   If anyone has any information regarding the theft, they are asked to contact the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
