Suspended Driver Charged
Brockville Police officers observed a white 2012 Chevrolet Impala yesterday afternoon on William Street being operated by a 29 year old Brockville woman who they believed was suspended from driving by the province.
At approximately 1:30 yesterday afternoon officers stopped the woman on William Street and confirmed her license was suspended. Officers also learned the vehicle she was operating was also not insured. When informed, the woman immediately became confrontational with police and was briefly taken into custody for obstructing officers in the performance of their duties.
After a short period of time the woman calmed and was released from custody and charged with driving under suspension and with no insurance. The vehicle she was operating was also impounded.
Police Investigating a Residential Break-in
A King Street West woman reading in her room was disturbed last night just before midnight when she heard noises coming from the back of the house. When she realized someone breaking into her residence, she looked outside and saw one suspect fleeing her residence down the driveway toward King Street.
The woman went downstairs to discover her kitchen had been gone through, numerous drawers left open and her turquoise purse missing. There was considerable damage to the kitchen doors when the suspect(s) gained entry to the residence.
The suspect is described only as wearing dark clothing and wearing a dark coloured hoodie and last seen walking toward King Street.
