Collision leads to Impaired Driving Charges

A 34 year old Brockville woman is facing impaired driving charges this morning as a result of a collision early this morning at the intersection of Stewart Boulevard and Jefferson Drive.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. a Brockville Police officer was in the area of Stewart Boulevard and Jefferson Drive when he observed a black Ford stopped at the red light at Jefferson Drive. The woman operating her 2006 black Chevrolet rear ended the stopped vehicle at the traffic light. Occupants of the Ford were taken to Brockville General Hospital as a precaution for minor injuries and released.

Officers at the scene detected an odour of alcohol on the woman’s breath and noticed signs of impairment. As a result she was arrested for impaired driving and conveyed to the Brockville Police Station where she provided breath samples of nearly three times the legal limit.

As a result, she was charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol and was released with a future court date.
