Lawnmower dispute

A dispute over a lawnmower yesterday afternoon resulted in Brockville Police attending a Delhi street residence to intervene.

Brockville Police were dispatched to the residence at 2:10 pm yesterday afternoon after receiving a call from female resident there that her ex-boyfriend was there arguing about the return of a lawnmower. She also believed he was currently on conditions not to be at her residence.

Before police arrived at the residence, the 33 year old man had fled and did not return to the house. Officers continue to try and speak with the man about the incident and the matter is still under investigation. Constable Eric Ruigrok is the investigating officer.

 

Public Intoxication Arrest

A call about two men drinking in a Central Avenue park resulted in a 47 year old Brockville man being arrested for public intoxication late Tuesday afternoon.

A concerned caller to the Brockville Police reported seeing two men drinking under a tree in the park area at the rear of Westminster School shortly after 4 pm yesterday. When officers arrived they located the man well under the influence of alcohol and unable to care for himself.

For his own safety, he was placed under arrest for public intoxication and brought the Brockville Police Service where he was held until sober.

 

Car vs Cyclist Collision

At 6:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon Brockville Police were notified by Leeds and Grenville EMS of a collision involving a car and cyclist on Parkedale Ave in front of Home Depot.

When officers arrived on scene the 19 year old Cyclist had already been transported by EMS to Brockville General Hospital with minor injuries. They spoke with the driver of the vehicle and witnesses at the scene before attending to the hospital to speak with the cyclist.

As a result of the investigation, the cyclist was charged under the Highway Traffic Act and served with a Provincial Offences notice. He was released from hospital with minor injuries.
