July 8 – 9, 2019 Incidents

Warrants/Theft:

On July 8th at 6:00 a.m. a 37 year old male was observed in the area of King St. and Perth St. The male, who was known to police, was arrested for his outstanding warrant for failing to attend court. A search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a vehicle ownership from a local business. Officers located that vehicle at the business on King St and discovered it insecure with its contents strewn about. The male was charged with theft and released on a promise to appear with a future court date.

At 9:00 a.m. that same male was arrested at Walmart as he attempted to steal various items. The male was then held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Mischief:

On July 8th at 10:38 p.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to an alarm at 27 King St. East. A 37 year old male was seen leaving the area and the description was provided to police. He was later located and charged with mischief under $5000 and released with a future court date.

Impaired:

On July 9th at 12:36 a.m. an officer from the Brockville Police service stopped a White Toyota 4 door vehicle that was being operated on King St. at Buell St.   The officer detected signs of impairment believed to be from alcohol and arrested the 22 year old male. He subsequently provided to samples of his breath of nearly double the legal limit. He was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days and he also faces an automatic 90 day licence suspension.
