Arrest Warrant

A 19 year old Kingston woman attended to the Brockville Police Service yesterday morning and surrendered herself for some outstanding warrants from July of 2016.

She was originally charged with Theft under $5000 and failed to appear for a subsequent court date in relation to the charge. As a result of the warrant, she was held in custody overnight and will appear today in bail court and face an additional charge of failing to attend court.

 

Theft of Shoes

A 27 year old Brockville woman was arrested yesterday afternoon on Central Avenue for stealing a pair of shoes she selected and put on before walking out of The Score Thrift store at the Brockville Shopping Centre.

At approximately 3:50 p.m. yesterday afternoon staff at the Score noticed the woman select a pair of high heel shoes and put them on her feet. She exited the store making no attempt to pay for the shoes and boarded a City transit bus travelling eastbound on Central Avenue.

Officers located the woman on Central Avenue at Ormond Street after she exited the bus with the shoes in her hand. She was then arrested in relation to the theft and the shoes were recovered. Further investigation learned the woman was also on probation at the time of the incident.

As a result she will appear today for a Bail Hearing at Brockville Court.
