Traffic Stop
On June 22nd, 2020 at 1:20 pm officers on routine patrol observed a Subaru SUV run a red light on Perth Street. The driver then took off at a high rate of speed before becoming involved in a minor motor vehicle collision and fleeing on foot. Officers pursued the 22 year old male for approximately half an hour as he attempted to evade arrest. He was located in a backyard on George Street and was arrested without incident. The driver faces criminal charges of dangerous operation of a conveyance and flight from police. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for driving under suspension, failing to remain at the scene of a collision and disobeying a red light.
