Theft of tires

Welburn Service Centre contacted the Brockville Police yesterday morning to report that sometime overnight March 15-16th unknown persons stole a set of tires from the bed of a pickup truck parked in their lot overnight.

The tires were Winter Cat radial tires on alloy rims commonly used on larger pickup trucks.

Shoplifter at Sears

Loss prevention officers at Sears apprehended a 17 year old Smiths Falls girl for shoplifting at Sears yesterday evening. The youth was observed selecting approximately $75 worth of merchandise and attempting to leave the store when she was approached by security and asked to return to await police.

When police arrived, they learned the youth had no prior police involvement and her parents were contacted. All involved agreed to participation in a youth diversionary program and she was released into the custody of her parents.

 

Mischief

Brockville Police were called to an apartment in the area of Sheridan Mews early this morning on a report that someone had thrown a rock through an apartment window.

At 2:40 am a 23 year old woman contacted police after she was awakened by her second floor window being broken and finding a small rock on her floor. When she looked outside she could see footprints but no one in the area and called police.

Winter By-Law Snow Removal Tickets

As City Works crews continued their snow removal south of the railway tracks in the city, Brockville police issued 26 tickets overnight for winter control and towed a number of vehicles at the request of snow removal crews.
