Warrants Executed

With the assistance of two neighbouring police services, the Brockville Police executed two arrest warrants and returned the persons to Brockville to face their charges.

Yesterday morning at 10am the Brockville Police were contacted by members of the Ottawa Police Service who were dealing with a 51 year old Merrickville woman whom Brockville Police held a warrant for failing to attend Provincial Offences Court. Arrangements were made with the Ottawa Police to meet them in Kemptville where the woman was transferred to the custody of the Brockville Police and conveyed to Brockville court.

At 1 pm yesterday the Brockville Police were contacted by the Kingston Police Service with regards to a 32 year old Kingston man they were dealing with who had an outstanding arrest warrant from Brockville for failing to attend court. Arrangements were made with the Kingston Police to meet in Gananoque to transfer custody of the accused who was conveyed to Brockville Court for a bail hearing.

Damage to Police Cruiser

A 17 year old Brockville youth attended to the Brockville Police Service just before 9pm last evening with a baseball bat and proceeded to smash out the rear taillight of one of the marked cruisers parked in the parking lot. Fortunately, two officers were in the front lobby of the station at the time dealing with victims in another investigation and were quickly able to apprehend the youth and bring him into custody.

While speaking with the youth it was learned that he had damaged two other vehicles enroute to the Police Station and as a result his parents were contacted and attended.

After speaking with the parents, it was learned they too were quite concerned about the boy’s behaviour and as a result he was released from custody with a future court date and conveyed to the Brockville General Hospital for examination and treatment.
