July 19th, 2015 Incidents

Breach of Conditions

On July 19th at approximately 4:00 am, Brockville Police dealt with a local, 56 year old male on King Street.

The party was noted to have been consuming alcohol which was in violation of outstanding release conditions. He was arrested and charged with breaching his undertaking. When sober, he was released with a future court date.

 

Domestic Dispute

On July 19th at approximately 11:00 am, Brockville Police attended a north end residence for a domestic dispute.

A local, 17 year old male, informed Police that he and his girlfriend had been arguing after she attended his residence upset. The local, 16 year old female, had damaged the male’s vehicle while it was parked in the driveway. Police located the young female who was issued a future court date for the mischief.

 

Scuba Accident

On July 19th at approximately 2:00 pm, Brockville Police Marine Unit responded to a male in distress while scuba diving in the river.

Local Police later learned the 55 year old male had died. The Brockville OPP took over the investigation as the incident took place in their jurisdiction.

July 17th Incidents

Breach of Conditions

On July 17 at approximately 12:30 pm, Brockville Police responded to an apartment complex in the north end of the city for a complaint of breaching release conditions.

The complainant, a local, 28 year old, female, indicated to Police that her ex partner had been communicating with her in contravention of his conditions from outstanding charges.

The local, 29 year old male, is now being sought by Police and faces two charges of breaching his undertaking.

 

Domestic Dispute

On July 17th at approximately 4:30 pm, Brockville Police responded to a domestic dispute on the sidewalk in the King St. West area.

Police spoke with a 19 year old female, who was now in her apartment on King St. She indicated her boyfriend had damaged her apartment door and threatened her. He had already left the area prior to Police arrival.

Several minutes later, the local, 41 year old was located on King St.   He resisted arrest and force was required to take him into custody. The male was held for a bail hearing today and faces charges of resist arrest, mischief and uttering threats.

 

RIDE Program

On July 17th at approximately 11:00 pm, Brockville Police conducted a RIDE program for several hours on various city roadways.

Approximately 200 vehicle stops were conducted with two persons providing breath samples into a roadside screening device to ensure they could continue driving.

No drinking and driving charges were laid. Two motorists received fines for traffic offences and one local, 22 year old male, was warned for possessing a small amount of marijuana.

Domestic Abuse

On July 16th at approximately 10:30 pm, Brockville Police took a complaint from a local 49 year old female, in regards to domestic abuse.

Police are currently seeking her former, common law spouse. The local, 71 year old male faces multiple charges including assaults and criminal harassment . When located, he will appear in bail court.

Domestic Dispute

On July 15th at approximately 6:30 pm, Brockville Police responded to a domestic dispute at a north end residence.

There was no criminal aspect to the disagreement but the female resident left the home to stay at another location.

Shoplifting

On July 15th at approximately 12:20 pm, Brockville Police responded to a north end department store in regards to shoplifters.

Two local males, 30 and 65 years of age as well as a local 55 year old female, now face a future court date. They were arrested and charged with theft and released from custody.

Theft

On July 14th at approximately 9:00 pm, Brockville Police took a theft complaint from a local church.

Alcohol, electronics and cash were removed from the location.  It appears the culprit(s) knew the exact location of items and possibly had some prior knowledge.  The incident is under investigation.

 

Stolen Vehicle

On July 14th at approximately 8:35 pm, Brockville Police attempted to stop a vehicle in the center area of the city for a traffic infraction.

The male driver however, fled onto the 401 eastbound, failing to stop for the Officer.
Police terminated the pursuit of the vehicle for public safety reasons and the origin of the original offence.

A plate number was obtained which was registered to female resident of Brockville.
The same female, later reported the vehicle stolen.

Assault

On July 14th at approximately 10:50 am, Brockville Police responded to an assault complaint on King St. E.

A local, 50 year old male, approached the victim at a downtown convenience store and punched him in the face.  The local, 59 year old victim did not require medical attention.
There is a history of bad relations between the two men.  Police located, arrested and charged the accused with assault as well as breaching release conditions related to outstanding charges.

Domestic Dispute

On July 13th at approximately 9:30 pm, Brockville Police responded to a domestic dispute at a south end apartment complex.

Police decided the situation would not be over if they left and the dispute would escalate. A local, 34 year old male was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace. He was released unconditionally after a cooling off period.

Mischief

Brockville Police attended a south end residence in regards to a mischief complaint.

The victim advised Police someone punctured one of the tires on her vehicle during the previous evening.  The incident is still under investigation.
