Warrants

On July 9th at approximately 3:30 am, Brockville Police attended the Leeds OPP detachment to pick up two males wanted by our Service.

A 44 year old man was wanted from an incident on May 29th when he failed to show at the Brockville Jail for his weekend sentence.

The second male, 26 years of age, was wanted in relation to an assault investigation which Police began investigating April 29th.

Both parties are being held in custody for a bail hearing.

Disturbance

On July 9th at approximately 1:00 am, Brockville Police attended a south end apartment complex due to a male party disturbing other tenants.

A local, 29 year old male, was located by Police in the building. He was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace and released unconditionally later the same day.

Unwanted Person

On July 8th at approximately 3:00 pm, Brockville Police responded to complaint of an unwanted person at a south end apartment building.

A local, 51 year old female, was intoxicated and visiting another apartment in her building.  She was asked to leave the apartment when a dispute began and refused to do so.  Police arrested and charged the visitor under the trespass to property act.  She was released with a fine when sober.

Unwanted Person

On July 7th at approximately 9:50 pm, Brockville Police attended a residence in the south end of the city for an unwanted person complaint.

A 56 year old male, from the Prescott area, attended his ex-girlfriend’s place and scratched her vehicle with an unknown object.  He was confronted by a 47 year old man who was visiting the victim.  The man followed the accused to his parked vehicle and tore the passenger side mirror off the vehicle while trying to stop him from leaving the area.  The accused then went home and contacted Police to report a mischief to his vehicle.

The Police attended his residence and arrested him for mischief and assault with a weapon. Prior to fleeing the area in Brockville, the accused had pulled a screwdriver on the man following him.

The accused was also charged with trespass by night and criminal harassment.  There was also a house arrest condition on the male for past charges of criminal harassment. He was subsequently held in custody and will appear in bail court.

Disturbance

On July 6th at approximately 9:50 pm, Brockville Police attended the intersection of Broad Street and Water Street for a male causing problems.

A local, 20 year old male, was yelling at people to fight him and disturbing the peace.  He returned home and damaged some property before leaving again on foot.  Police located him and noted him to be barefoot, shirtless and intoxicated. He was arrested for public intoxication and also charged with two breaches of his probation order.  The accused was released when sober with a fine and a future court date.

Missing Person

On July 6th at approximately 9:40 pm, Brockville Police attended to a local outpatient home to look into a missing resident.

The local, 23 year old male, had wondered away from the home and staff needed help trying to locate him.  The male was eventually located several blocks from the residence and escorted to the hospital.  He was fine from a physical health stand point.

Assistance

On July 6th at approximately 2:10 pm, Brockville Police attended a residence in the south end of town in regards to female who was in distress.

A local, 20 year old female, was out of control in the residence, breaking items and refusing to follow direction.  She was apprehended under the mental health act and taken to hospital.  After being evaluated, it was determined she would benefit from a term within the facility.

Public Intoxication

On July 6th at approximately 1:00 am, Brockville Police responded to the Court House Square in regards to a male party passed out on the grass.  A local, 44 year old male, was located and arrested for public intoxication as Police had concerns about his ability to look after himself.  He was released when sober with a fine.

On July 5th at approximately 11:50 pm, Brockville Police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated male riding a bicycle downtown.

Officers located the 57 year old, local male and noted injuries to his one eye and elbow. Medical assistance was called for but the subject refused any treatment. He was arrested for public intoxication for his own protection. He was released with a fine when sober.

Impaired Driving

On July 5th at approximately 11:30 pm, Brockville Police stopped a vehicle on Bartholomew Street for a traffic violation.

The 45 year old, male driver was currently camping in the area but hails from the Kingston area. He was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified due to four separate convictions for impaired driving, dangerous driving and driving while disqualified. An arrest warrant was also in effect from our Service for failing to attend court and breaching release conditions. The subject was currently on conditions of another recognizance and officer in charge undertaking. Police also discovered a quantity of marijuana and another charge stemmed from possessing the drug.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days and a total of 10 criminal code charges were laid as a result of the stop. The male was remanded into custody and faces a bail hearing.
