Licence Suspension

On March 30, Brockville Police performed a traffic stop in the center area of the city.

The 36 year old, female driver was cited for traffic violations.  Officers also performed a roadside test on the driver after detecting alcohol consumption. The driver’s breath sample registered in the “warn” range and her licence was suspended for three days. Having open liquor in the vehicle resulted in a fine.

Public Intoxication

On March 29, Brockville Police attended to a south end street in the city for a passed out male.

The local, 29 year old male, was arrested for public intoxication. He was released with a fine when sober.

Impaired Driving

On March 29, Brockville Police stopped a vehicle in the south end of the city which was travelling the wrong way on a one way street.

The 40 year old, male driver, was arrested for impaired driving.
Back at the station, the male refused to provide samples of his breath which resulted in a second criminal charge. He was released with a future court date.

High School Police Academy

If you are interested in a career in law enforcement and want to gain a greater understanding of the duties of a police officer, then the High School Police Academy is a perfect day for you!

Students will have an opportunity to learn more on Use of Force, Forensic Identification, Emergency Response Team, Dispatch, and Court Security and try the physical fitness test required to become an officer!

  • Students should bring clothing that is appropriate for the physical fitness testing.
  • Students are required to bring their own lunch or they are able to purchase a lunch from the cafeteria.
  • Students will not be allowed to leave during the lunch break as presentation will be given at that time.
  • Attendance will be taken and it is mandatory that students attend for the full day to participate.
  • Grade 9-12
  • Ten students from each High School will be eligible to attend.
  • First priority should be given to senior students and students interested in a career in law enforcement

Annual Police Auction

The Annual Brockville Police Service auction will be held on May 14th, 2015 at the Memorial Centre.
Viewing will take place at 6:00 pm, the auction will start at 7:00 pm

Assault Complaint

The Brockville Police are seeking the public’s assistance while investigating an assault complaint.

Yesterday, March 26th, around 3:00 p.m., a 50 year old female was assaulted in the area of King St. W. and Market St. W. Her injuries were minimal but Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact us. Currently, a 51 year old male, known to the victim is being sought.

COPS CARE FOR KIDS

The Brockville Police Association is proud to announce the Fourth Annual “COPS CARE FOR KIDS” rally.

The Brockville Police Association will be seeking suitable and deserving candidates to be nominated and ultimately selected for a special and memorable event arranged by the Brockville Police Association in hopes of bringing some joy and creating special memories in a child (and family) that is fighting a difficult fight.

The Brockville Police Association which is a constant supporter of kids and the community, started this program three years ago and want to continue the program.

We are seeking out nominations for deserving kids who meet the following criteria:

• Must be between 3 – 16 years of age
• Must reside within the area of Brockville
• Have a serious medical illness or affliction
• Be willing to be accessible to various media forms

How to enter/what must be included:

Name and age of applicant
Name and relationship of nominator (**must have parents’ permission**)
Name of parents and contact information
Nature of illness – brief history
List three hobbies or interests of the child

***Applications may be received in two ways***
1) Attend Brockville Police headquarters located at 2269 Parkedale Avenue and place the nomination in a sealed envelope in the specially marked box in the lobby

Impaired Driver

On March 21st, Brockville Police performed a traffic stop in the south-west quadrant of the city.

A local, 22 year old male, was arrested and charged with impaired driving. Samples of his breath were taken at the police station which registered over the legal limit. As a result, he was also charged with operating a motor vehicle while over .08%. He was released with a future court date.
