November 1 – 2, 2018 Incidents

Impaired Driving

On the 1st of November at 11:34 pm, a 47-year-old male was observed operating his vehicle on King St. at Victoria St. The male was observed exiting his vehicle and stagger away. The driver was approached by police who detected an odour of alcohol emitting from his breath. The male failed a roadside screening device that detects the presence of alcohol. He was transported to the Brockville Police Service where it was discovered that his blood alcohol was more than twice the legal limit. He has been charged with driving over 80 mgs of alcohol and impaired driving. His vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

 

Conviction on Charges

On the 29th of December 2015 the Brockville Police Service conducted an investigation where they formed reasonable grounds to believe that the accused, Trevor Mellon, would be in possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Officers arrested the accused on that date and searched the male incident to arrest. The accused had on his person 222 grams of cocaine, 1.01 kilograms of fentanyl and 504 grams of marijuana.

On November 1st, 2018 Trevor Mellon convicted of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana. Sentencing will be on January 11, 2019.
