Man facing Assault Charges
A 31 year old Brockville area man is facing several charges after officers in the area on an unrelated matter, witnessed a disturbance yesterday afternoon at a north end building.
At approximately 2pm yesterday afternoon two Brockville Police detectives were just returning to their vehicle when they witnessed a victim being chased by the 31 year old man and being knocked to the ground. With the victim on the ground the assault continued briefly until officers were able to intervene and make the arrest.
Upon searching the man, police also found a wooden club concealed in his clothing. He was taken into custody and will be appearing in bail court today facing charges of assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, using a disguise, and break and enter with intent to commit an offence.
