Theft of Tractor
On October 13th at 4:17 am, a transport tractor was stolen from a business on California Avenue. The vehicle was a 2014, Peterbuilt, white in colour with an Ontario licence plate of 9368PS. The Grenville OPP also had a tractor trailer stolen from the Cardinal area around the same time. It is possible the two incidents are related but there are no suspects at this time.
Breach of Release Conditions
Earlier this week, Brockville Police charged a local 17 year old with two counts of mischief. He was released on conditions while awaiting his court date. One of the conditions involved a curfew from 10:00 pm. – 6:00 am.
On October 14th at 12:30 am, Officers noticed the accused operating a vehicle on Stewart Blvd. The vehicle was stopped and the young man was arrested and charged with breaching his release conditions. When searching the accused after his arrest, Officers located a small amount of marijuana on his person. He was released later the same day on the new charges of breaching his release conditions and possession of a controlled substance.
Breach of Release Conditions
In July of 2015, Brockville Police arrested a local 25 year old man for dangerous driving and breaching outstanding release conditions. He was released on conditions which included no consumption of alcohol or drugs. The accident involved the man striking a utility pole at Stewart Blvd. and Central Avenue then fleeing the scene. A trial date was set for next year to deal with those charges.
On October 14th at 3:11 am, Brockville Police spoke with the accused on a south end street after he indicated he was having trouble trying to find a friend in the area. Officers noted the man had been drinking and arrested him for violating his release conditions.
Back at the station, Officers searched a back pack the subject was carrying and located a large amount of marijuana, scales and sandwich bags. All items required to traffic in the substance when selling to potential clients. Another charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking was added to the list along with another breach of his conditions. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
