Speeder

The Brockville Police Service received a complaint that one particular vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed on Kensington Parkway.  The vehicle had been observed by the complainant speeding in excess of 90 km/h through a school zone.  The complainant knew the speed of the vehicle as he would watch it travel through a digital speed sign that had been erected in the area.

On Thursday night officers went out and setup to observe traffic in the area.  At 11:26 p.m. the officers observed an older dark green Toyota Corolla travelling north bound past Ange-Gabriel School at a high rate of speed. They clocked the vehicle on radar at 111 km/h (61 km/h over the posted limit). The vehicle was followed and stopped at the driver’s residence. The driver was a 17 year old male.  He was charged with stunt driving, license was seized and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Fraud

A 33 year old male was arrested and charged with using a stolen credit card and theft.  The male who is well known to police was observed using the card that had been reported stolen earlier in the week.  He was located this morning, arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing.
