October 3 – 4, 2020 News Release

Warrants/Drugs/Fraud

October 4th, 2020 at 5:20 AM – A 42 year old male was arrested Sunday morning for an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with probation.  Officers were called to the area for reports of a male going through vehicles.  The suspect was identified and arrested for the warrant.  A search incident to arrest lead to charges of carrying a concealed weapon (brass knuckles), possession of cocaine, possession of break in instruments, possession of counterfeit money, using a stolen credit card and breach of probation.  He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Domestic Assault

October 4th, 2020 at 12:07 PM – officers responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute in the center of the city.  As a result of the investigation a 20 year old female was charged with assault on a 21 year old male.  She will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

Bail Violations

October 4, 2020 at 3:13 PM – A 33 year old male was arrested by an officer on routine patrol when he was observed on Water Street.  The male was known to the officer who had grounds to arrest the male for breaching a bail condition of a curfew.  The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Bail Violations

October 3rd, 2020 at 11:56 PM – the Brockville Police Service were contacted by the Smiths Falls Police regarding a 50 year old female that was currently in Brockville and wanted on their charges for failing to comply with a release order.  The female was located by officers on Charles Street and arrested without incident.  She was then turned over to Smiths Falls Police.

Theft

October 3rd, 2020 at 1:09 PM – A 56 year old male was arrested for theft under $5000 by loss prevention officers at Walmart.  The male was observed by staff exiting the store with approximately $1000 worth of merchandise, not making any attempt to pay.  Police were then contacted and charged the male for the theft.  He will appear in court at a later date.

Mischief

October 3rd, 2020 at 1:30 PM – A 25 year old male from Brockville has been arrested and charged with mischief.  The male had attended the Brockville Police Service armed with a baseball bat and caused damaged to an unoccupied police vehicle.  He was arrested at the time of the occurrence, charged with mischief and two counts of breaching a probation order.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

October 3, 2020 at 9:15 PM – A 44 year old male was arrested for an outstanding warrant for a probation breach.  The male was located on Broome Road by officers on routine patrol.  He was arrested without incident and will appear in court at later date to answer to the charge.

Warrants

October 4th, 2020 at 1:06 AM – A 42 year old female was arrested on George Street by an officer on routine patrol.  The female was wanted for charges of assaulting an officer and failing to comply with a release order.  She is now facing an additional charge of failing to comply with a release order as when she was arrested she was out past her curfew.  The original charges stem from an incident on the 26th of August where the accused was being investigated for a breach of a bail condition.  On that occasion she spat on the officers striking them on the chest and legs from inside her residence.   She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
