October 30 – November 1, 2015 Incidents

Robbery

On October 30th at 3:39 pm., Brockville Police responded to a robbery on Fairknowe Drive.

A local, 61 year old female, was in the process of collecting rent for a nearby apartment building. An unknown male approached, ripped her purse from her shoulder and fled the area. The female was not injured during the incident.

Brockville Police K-9 Unit attended the scene with other officers searching the area. The suspect could not be located although articles of clothing he was wearing were found discarded.

The incident is still under investigation.

 

Mischief

On October 30th at 9:57 pm., unknown parties attended the Brockville Police Service and threw a rock at one of the front windows, breaking it in the process. They then broke flower pots at the front of the building and fled.

Officers were on general patrol at the time and none inside the facility. A track involving K-9 turned up no suspects.

The incident is still under investigation. Dispatchers within the building were unharmed.

 

Domestic Dispute

On October 31st at 12:12 am., Brockville Police attended a south end residence for a domestic dispute.

Officers had attended the residence earlier in the evening and dealt with an intoxicated male who agreed to leave for the evening. He returned. Police arrested the local, 47 year old male, to prevent a further breach of the peace.

He was released unconditionally when sober.

 

Mischief

On October 31st at 1:52 am., Brockville Police attended the Brockville Yacht Club to check on three males located around the boats.

Damage was done to two boats and the men were in possession of stolen items from same. The three local males, 18, 18 and 19 years of age, face charges of mischief and possession of stolen property.

They were released on conditions with a future court date.

 

Unwanted Person

On October 31st at 2:36 am., Brockville Police attended a south end residence for an unwanted person.

Police located a local, intoxicated, 51 year old male, who was trying to enter a residence that was not his.

He was arrested and charged with public intoxication. A fine was issued when sober and he was released.

 

Trespass to Property

On October 31st at 5:00 pm., Brockville Police attended a south end apartment complex to assist paramedics with an unresponsive male.

The local, 52 year old, was awake on Officer’s arrival but was intoxicated and refusing to leave the area when directed.

He was arrested under the Trespass to Property Act, fined and later released.

 

Drug Offences

On October 31st at 8:38 pm., Brockville Police stopped a vehicle for speeding on a north end street.

The 51 year old, male driver, was found to be in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine and hash. Cash and digital scales were also confiscated.

The Quebec resident was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in a narcotic.

The investigation is ongoing and the subject will make an appearance in bail court.

 

Breaching Conditions

On October 31st at 8:45 pm., Brockville Police came across a male party acting strange on Court House Avenue.

The local, 28 year old, was spoken to by Police and an odour of alcohol was noted on his breath.

The man was on release conditions that included no alcohol and was also found to be breaching two probation orders. He initially ran from Police but fell down, was helped to his feet and arrested for the offences. When sober, he was released with a future court date.

 

Breach of the Peace

On November 1st at 1:36 am., Brockville Police attended the King Street East area to check out a male that was interfering with folks trying to get into cabs.

The local, 20 year old, would not listen to reason and was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace. Bar patrons were then able to get home and the male was given his own ride by Police to the station.

He was released later the same day with no charges.

 

Possession of a Dangerous Weapon

On November 1st at 1:13 pm., Brockville Police responded to a complaint of an upset male in the King Street West area, possibly in possession of a knife.

Police located the male and discovered another family member had already taken the knife from the subject. The male was upset due to recent family issues that were unresolved. The knife was never used to threaten anyone in the incident. The local, intoxicated, 25 year old, was arrested and charged with weapons dangerous to the public and carrying a concealed weapon. He was released when sober and given a future court date.

 

Mischief

On November 1st at 3:47 pm., Brockville Police attended an apartment complex in the center of the city for a mischief complaint.

A local, 24 year old male, attended the apartment of his ex-girlfriend’s to remove his property from a storage unit in the building. While leaving the building with his property, a window was kicked out of the entry door. Police have charged the man with mischief and issued him a future court date.
