The R.I.D.E. Program is operated by the Brockville Police Service to target Impaired Drivers.  Officers set up with Police vehicle lights flashing and Officers equipped with brightly coloured safety vests and flashlights.  Roadside tests are conducted on those drivers who appear to have been drinking alcohol or are under the influence of a drug.

The Brockville Police Service applies for a yearly grant to the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Our annual grant of over $12,000 dollars assists in ensuring R.I.D.E teams are available throughout the year. Officers are assigned to each R.I.D.E. Program and they take place at various times and locations throughout the City.

Over the past several years our local Tim Hortons has partnered with the Brockville Police to assist in combatting impaired driving. R.I.D.E . programs during the holiday season often see sober drivers leaving with a gift card for a free coffee as a thanks for being responsible.

Officers assigned to conduct R.I.D.E programs are committed to eliminating impaired driving.
