September 21 – 23, 2019 News Release

Harassment/Assault:

On the 21st of September, 2019 at approximately 2pm police received a call from a 48 year old male from out of town reporting harassment from a local 42 year old male. The 42 year old male was bound by conditions that he not to be out without his surety. It was reporting that he was following the complainant around town against his conditions. He was located and arrested for the breach charges. Further information is that at some point the accused had assaulted the complainant as well, and will be charged with assault. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Weapons:

On the 22nd of September, 2019 at approximately 3pm police received a call to attend the area of Windsor Drive in the City. It was reported that a 33 year old male approached a vehicle requesting a lighter for his cigarette. When the occupants declined to assist this male he was observed throwing what appeared to be a throwing star at the vehicle. He then brandished a small pocket knife and ran up to the car; the occupants then sped away fearing their safety and contacted the police. The male was located and arrested; he was searched and was found to be in possession of a small quantity of heroin. He will be charged with offences of possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon, possession of drugs, and possession of a weapon while prohibited. He will be held in custody today for a bail hearing.
