Officers Facing Disciplinary Action

As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Brockville Police Service a 7 year veteran of the service is facing numerous charges.  The officer has been suspended from duty since the 25th of April 2016 and will remain on suspension as per the Police Services Act.  The officer faces the following charges:

  • 1 count of Breach of Trust – Criminal Code
  • 7 counts of Discreditable Conduct – Police Services Act
  • 5 counts of Neglect of duty – Police Services Act

The officer will appear in criminal court on September 23rd, 2016 and his Police Act hearing will commence on October 21st 2016.   Based on the nature of the allegations the officer is not being named.

A second officer is also facing disciplinary action as a result of a separate investigation.  The Brockville Police Service requested assistance from the OPP after receiving information of potential criminal allegations.  The OPP concluded their investigation and laid several counts of assault against the officer.  The allegations all occurred off duty, did not occur in the City of Brockville and span several years.   The officer is an 8 year veteran of the Brockville Police Service and has been moved to administrative duties.   Based on the nature of the allegations the officer is not being named.  The Brockville Police have commenced a Police Services Act investigation as a result of charges being laid.
