September 30 – October 1, 2017 Incidents

Impaired Operation

On the afternoon of the 30th of September 2017, a motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Ormond Street and Central Avenue. It involved an automobile and an electric tricycle.

Luckily no one was injured. During the investigation an odor of alcohol was detected on the breath of the 45 year old operator of the electric vehicle. He registered a fail on the approved screening device and was arrested for having more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood. Samples of his breath were obtained at headquarters which showed in fact he had 1 1/2 times the allowable level by law. He was later released with a future court.

 

Breach of Probation

On the 1st of October after midnight police were called to a disturbance on King Street West. A 28 year old woman that is known to police was drunk and was in possession of an open bottle of wine. After checking her name on the data base it was learned she was on probation with one of the terms to abstain from the consumption of alcohol.

She was arrested and released when sober with a future court date.
