September 9 – 11, 2016 Incidents

Mental Health

On September 9th at 3:43 pm, Brockville Police attended a mental health group home in the south end of the city to assist with a resident.

A local 27 year old male had stopped taking his medication and staff were seeking the help of Officers in escorting him to local hospital. Once at the hospital, security staff relieved Officers while the subject awaited care.

 

Domestic Dispute

On September 9th at 5:13 pm, Brockville Police received a complaint of domestic assault.

A local 29 year old male attended the residence of his ex-partner for child exchange purposes. The man indicated to Officers the dispute turned physical and he was struck several times in the head with a fist. No medical attention was required.

Police arrested and charged a local 27 year old woman with assault as a result. She was released later in the day and placed on conditions with a future court date.

 

Bail Violations

On September 9th at 5:37 pm, Brockville Police attended a south end residence to investigate a breach of court issued release conditions.

A local 12 year old male had been charged with assault and released on multiple conditions. One of the conditions involved remaining in his home unless accompanied by a named adult. His caretaker reported the youth tore up his release documents and fled the home. Officers located him and he was arrested and charged with breaching his conditions, then released back to his home.

On September 10th at 6:34 pm, Police attended the residence again as the youth had taken off a second time. This time he was located and arrested but held for a remand appearance. Remand court on the weekends is done via video with Kingston serving as the hub for surrounding Police agencies. In the morning of September 11th, the Justice of the Peace released the youth into the custody of the Children’s Aid Society. The original assault charge and the subsequent breaches of release conditions will be dealt with in a future court date.

 

Break/Enter/Theft

On September 9th at 11:52 pm, Brockville Police took a complaint of a residential break and enter.

During the overnight hours of September 6th, an unknown person(s) entered the victim’s home through an insecure, rear sliding door. A PlayStation along with a wallet from a purse was removed from the home.

The investigation continues into possible suspects.

 

Mischief

On September 11th at 12:55 am, Brockville Police responded to a restaurant on King Street West for a mischief complaint.

One of the panes of glass at the front of the business was busted by an unknown individual. Entry was not gained as a secondary pane was still intact.

Public Intoxication

On September 11th at 2:46 am, Brockville Police received information from a cab driver concerning a male lying in the lawn of a south end residence. Officers recognized the local man and noted he was intoxicated. The 52 year old was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was released later in the day when sober and issued a fine.

 

Storm Issues.

Brockville Police responded to the typical things that accompany a storm of Saturday nights magnitude. Trees blocked roadways and took down different utility lines. The biggest concern was a high voltage powerline, knocked down at Bramshot Avenue and Ormond Street. Hydro One was called in to deal with the problem. We are not aware of any personal injuries to citizens of the community.
