Serious Motor Vehicle Collision on North Augusta Road
On October 26, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Brockville Police Service was notified by Emergency Medical Services of a serious motor vehicle collision on the 401 overpass on North Augusta Road.
Police responded promptly and secured the scene. Initial investigative observations were that a 29-year-old male, driving alone, had been operating a vehicle at a high rate of speed. At some point during the event the vehicle struck a pole and rolled over. The driver was then ejected from the vehicle and sustained significant injuries. The exact time between the collision and its discovery by paramedics is currently unknown. The driver was transported to Kingston General Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
North Augusta Road was closed between Parkedale Avenue and Waverly Drive for the majority of the day to allow for a thorough investigation. The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators were called in to assist with their expertise and scene analysis. Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor, though this has not yet been confirmed.
The investigation remains ongoing to determine all circumstances surrounding the incident.
