Impaired Charges Laid as a Result of Collision
On October 31, 2025, at about 8:30pm, police received a report of a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Parkedale Avenue and Ormond Street. Information was that there were three vehicles involved in the collision.
Investigation revealed that a 24-year-old, female was driving her vehicle and approaching the intersection where traffic was stopped. The described driver did not stop in time and struck the rear of the vehicle ahead, forcing it forward into the rear of a third, involved vehicle. No one was injured in the collision.
While officers were speaking with all involved individuals, the 24-year-old, female who was the cause of the collision was noticed to be under the influence of alcohol. After speaking with the driver further, it was determined that she was impaired and placed under arrest. She was taken to the Brockville Police Service for testing, which confirmed that she was impaired.
The female’s driver’s licence was suspended, vehicle impounded and she was released with a future court date for the offences of operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.
Charges Laid Regarding Drug Impaired Driving Incident
On November 2, 2025, at about 1:00am, police received a call regarding a vehicle that is parked at the intersection of King Street West and Perth Street, with the hood up. It was also described that there was a male walking around the vehicle who was described as appearing intoxicated.
Investigation revealed that there was a 36-year-old, male walking around the vehicle. This subject was identified to be the driver of the vehicle. Upon conversation officers believed the subject to be intoxicated by drugs. A Standard Field Sobriety Test was administered, which resulted in the subject performing poorly. They were arrested and taken for additional testing by a Drug Recognition Expert. While the Drug Recognition Expert made some determinations, during the testing the subject became uncooperative and would not complete the testing. This resulted in the subject being charged with following:
- Operation while impaired by drugs
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Obstruct peace officer
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
They were released on conditions with a future court date.
Intimate Partner Violence
On November 2, 2025, at about 8:30pm, police received a complaint about a dispute between a couple over a family issue at a residence on Crawford Street.
Investigation revealed that the couple were in a dispute surrounding a matter with a child. The 44-year-old, male was upset over actions surrounding his girlfriend’s young daughter. This turned into an argument that escalated to the point that the male shoved the female, prompting police to be notified.
As a result of the investigation, the 44-year-old, male was charged with assault. He was released on conditions with a future court date. The victim suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
