News Release – November 14th, 2025

Impaired Driving

On November 9, 2025, at about 3:50pm, police received a call of a male driver slumped over the wheel of car in the area of 60 William Street. Officers located the vehicle and identified the driver as a 32-year-old, male.

After speaking with the driver, it was decided to demand the breath sample for alcohol screening. The driver was not cooperative with police originally, but after he was arrested and taken to the police station, he provided samples confirming he was over the legal limit. As a result, his vehicle was impounded, licence suspended and charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.

Intimate Partner Violence

On November 12, 2025, at about 4:00am, police received a 911 call where a female was disclosing that she was being assaulted, just prior to the call disconnecting. It was learned that the call was coming from a residence on Kyle Court.

Officers attended and while on route, police received a second call with similar information. Investigation revealed that the couple involved were a 56-year-old, male; and a 54-year-old, female. The couple were involved in a dispute that escalated to the point that both became physical. Throughout the dispute, both had taken the opportunity to assault and threaten one another. In addition to the altercation, the male subject prevented the female from leaving the scene.

As a result, both were released on conditions with a future court date, after being charged with the following:

  • 56-year-old, male
    • Assault
    • Utter threats
    • Forcible confinement
  • 54-year-old, female
    • Assault
    • Utter threats

Break and Enter

On November 12, 2025, at about 9:00am, police received a call in relation to a break and enter into a building at 47 Broad Street. Information was that the door to the building appeared to have been broken open.

Officers arrived and confirmed the reported information. When officers entered the building, they located two subjects inside. They were identified as 55 and 56-year-old, local males. The 56-year-old, male was found to be on two separate probation orders with conditions to keep the peace and be of good bahaviour.

Both were arrested and charged with break and enter. The subject on probation was additionally charged with two counts of failing to comply with probation. They were released on conditions with a future court date.
