Multiple Disturbances Lead to Arrest
On December 4, 2025, the Brockville Police Service responded to a series of alarming incidents involving a male subject who threatened and assaulted staff members at two local businesses.
Investigation revealed that a 44-year-old, male entered Staples on Parkedale Avenue at about 12:00pm, where he stole a space heater and threatened to kill a staff member. Police were contacted immediately. A short time after, the subject attended a second location at Lanark Leeds Grenville Mental Health and Addictions on Front Avenue, where the situation escalated dramatically.
It was discovered that the subject assaulted a staff member by grabbing them and shoving them twice, threw an energy drink at their head, and made additional death threats to kill multiple staff members in the area. The subject then threw a boot at another staff member, striking them in the upper back. While employees sought safety, the subject caused significant property damage by smashing a computer monitor and destroying a table.
Brockville Police located the subject nearby, placed him under arrest, and held him in custody for a bail hearing. It was learned that he was also on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was charged with the following offences:

Driver Determined to be Impaired by Drugs
On December 5, 2025, at about 1:30am, a 32-year-old male attended the Brockville Police Service reporting that he was being followed and harassed. The subject stated he had traveled from Kawartha Lakes to Cornwall and expressed concerns about ongoing harassment.
Investigation revealed the same individual had visited another police service previously with similar complaints. During the interaction in Brockville, officers observed signs of impairment and grounds were formed to arrest the subject for impaired operation by drug.
The driver was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and performed poorly on the assessment. As a result, the subject has been charged with Impaired Operation by Drug. Their driver’s licence was suspended, vehicle impounded, and released with conditions, including a future court date.
The Brockville Police Service reminds the public that impaired driving—whether by alcohol or drugs—poses a serious risk to everyone on our roads. We encourage everyone to contact police if you suspect a driver is impaired, and help us reduce the risk for everyone in our community.
