Male Arrested in High Risk Incident Involving Threats and Weapon Possession
On December 13, 2025, at approximately 2:00pm, police received a 911 call regarding a dispute between a mother and her 32‑year‑old, son at a residence on Perth Street. Information provided indicated that an argument between the two had escalated, resulting in the son taking possession of a kitchen knife and threatening his mother.
Officers responded promptly and located the mother and keeping her safe inside the residence. It was determined that the subject had moved to the upper level of the home, where he barricaded himself in a bedroom and made statements indicating self‑harm while still in possession of the knife. Officers contained the scene to mitigate risk for everyone while the Brockville Police Service Emergency Response Team (ERT) was deployed.
ERT officers attended and assessed the situation while negotiations were initiated with the individual. These efforts resulted in him surrendering the knife, along with a quantity of methamphetamine. This calculated response led to the safe arrest of the subject without any injuries.
The individual was held in custody for a bail hearing after being charged with the offences of uttering threats and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
