Domestic Assault

On October 12th at 9:00 am, Brockville Police were conducting residence checks along with mental health workers. This program checks on community residents who may in need of mental health services prior to becoming a crisis situation.

A resident of the south end of the city was spoken to in her home and disclosed domestic assaults of a historical nature. The victim disclosed incidents from 2012 to 2016 in which she was assaulted and choked on several occasions by her boyfriend, a resident of the Ottawa area.

During one of the incidents he mentioned getting a knife and threatening to kill her. Officers located the 62 year old accused on October 12th at 7:33 pm, while in the process of returning children belonging to both parties. He was arrested and charged with choking, assault and uttering threats. His release from custody involves following numerous conditions. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries which did not require medical attention.

 

Break and Enter

On October 12th at 1:15 pm, Brockville Police attended a south end home to investigate a break and enter involving a rear yard shed. Sometime over the last two days, suspects broke into the resident’s shed and removed a number of power and hand tools. The investigation continues into responsible parties.
