Public’s Assistance sought in Shopper’s Drug Mart theft

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a theft at Shopper’s Drug Mart late Saturday November 4th.

Shortly before midnight on November 4th the young man is observed entering the store wearing dark clothing and carrying either a duffle bag or large shopping bag with him. He is observed to walk down the Health and Beauty aisle and put several items into the bag and then proceed to the fragrance area and select more items. Once his bag was filled he proceeded to the exit where he set off the store alarm and continued walking out the door. Staff approached him to return but the suspect fled the area.

On the 6th of November 2017 staff at Shopper’s Drug Mart contacted police after reviewing the security footage and learning almost $2000 worth of Health and Beauty products was taken.

The suspect is described as approximately 20-30 years of age with blonde hair wearing a black toque, a grey coat over a brown sweater and blue jeans. He was carrying a grey or blue sports bag or duffle bag.

Police Car strikes Deer

Just before 9 a.m. yesterday morning Constable Dustin Gamble was eastbound on Centennial Road just east of the OSPCA building when a deer jumped out of the ditch in front of his police vehicle. Despite braking he slid on the ice and struck the deer.

The police cruiser suffered minor front end damage to the grill and push bar on the front of the vehicle. Constable Gamble was not injured in the collision, but the deer had to be euthanized.
