December 4 – 6, 2020 News Release

Officers were kept busy responding to 77 calls for service including 6 mental health apprehensions over the weekend.

Theft

On December 6th at 11:10 AM officers responded to a theft complaint from “The Score” on King Street West.  Staff reported that a male had stolen a coat and left in an unknown direction.  A 41 year old Quebec resident was later located with the coat on and arrested.  He was charged with theft and will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

Bail Violations

On December 5th at 9:00 AM officers began a suspicious person’s investigation on Wall Street.  The complainant reported that a male had been hanging around his residence the previous night and had left some property in the area.  The male was identified by the complainant and police.  The male was on court ordered release conditions not to be near the residence.  The 39 year old male is now facing charges of failing to comply with a release order.  He has not been located at this time.

Mischief

On December 5th at 9:27 PM officers arrested a 49 year old male and arrested him for failing to comply with a release order for being out past his curfew.  The male was also wanted for breaking into mail boxes at a King Street apartment building.  He was released from custody with a future court date.

Domestic

On December 4th at 7:51 AM officers responded to a domestic dispute in the center of the city.  A 32 year old female was charged with assault with a weapon and a 40 year old male was charged with breaching a release order.  The two parties were in a heated argument that lead to the female striking the male with a stick and threatening him with a knife.  The male was arrested for violating his release order by not residing at his proper address.  She was released from custody with a future court date and he was held in for a bail hearing.
