Motor Vehicle Collision

On December 19th, Brockville Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Market St. W.

A tractor trailer had slipped out of the parking gear and mounted a brick wall at that location.
No injuries were reported. The 44 year old, owner of the truck was charged under the Highway Traffic Act and issued a fine.

Trespassing

On December 19th, Brockville Police responded to a report of male parties inside the Trinity Church on George St.

The abandoned church is slated for demolition and not a safe place to be. Two local males, aged 14 and 15 years were spoken to in regards to their actions. They will not face charges.

Intoxicated Person

On December 20th, Brockville Police were in the King St. W. area and noted an intoxicated female drawing attention to herself.

The 19 year old, local female was arrested for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place. She was released when sober with a fine.

Disturb the Peace

On December 20th, Brockville Police responded to a domestic dispute in the King St. W. area.

As a result of investigating the complaint, domestic related charges were laid. A local, 22 year old male was arrested and charged with Assault, Mischief and Breach of Probation. The 23 year old, female victim did not require medical attention. The accused was released on conditions with a future court date.

Drug Offence

On December 20th, Brockville Police responded to a complaint of persons trying to smuggle drugs in to the Brockville Jail.

Police seized both tobacco and a quantity of a controlled substance. Police do have a suspect and the investigation is ongoing. No further information is being released at this time pending the investigation.

Unwanted Person

On December 21st, Brockville Police responded to an unwanted person complaint at a residence in the north end of the city.

A 53 year old, local male had attended the home of a past partner. However, the male was under release conditions not to be near that residence. The male, who was intoxicated at the time, was arrested and charged with two counts of Breaching his Undertaking. Access to the residence was never gained and no contact took place between the complainant and the accused.

He was released with a future court date when sober.

Theft from Vehicle

On December 21st, Brockville Police responded to a theft from vehicle complaint in the Center/East portion of the city.

A window had been smashed out of the vehicle and items removed. Police took two of these similar type incidents which took place during overnight hours on Saturday.

Traffic Issues

The Brockville Police are quite concerned about traffic volume in the area of the Rail Road line on Parkedale Ave.

Holiday shopping is causing congestion that has caused stop and go traffic. We are noticing vehicles are close to getting stuck on the tracks waiting for vehicles in front of them. Police are asking people to use common sense and good judgment. Do not cross the tracks unless you are very confident that there is room for your vehicle on the opposite side.

This problem will exist over the Holiday Season!!

Domestic Dispute

On December 23rd, Brockville Police responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment complex in the center of the city.

A 22 year old, local male, attended the residence of an ex-girlfriend where an altercation between the two went from verbal to physical. The suspect also became physical with a female neighbour who attended to assist. Police located the male a short distance away exiting his vehicle and was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was issued a 72 hour licence suspension after registering a warn on a roadside screening device. The male was arrested and charged with two counts of Assault.

The victims suffered no injuries. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court.
