Breach of Probation

On May 13th at approximately 12:10 am, Brockville Police came across an intoxicated male while on general patrol in the south end of the city.

The local, 24 year old male, was on probation conditions which included the non-consumption of alcoholic beverages.  He was arrested and charged with breaching his probation order ands was released when sober with a future court date.

Domestic Dispute

On May 12th at approximately 10:00 pm, Brockville Police responded to a domestic dispute at an apartment building in the south end of the city.

The 45 year old, male resident, was involved in a dispute with his female partner.  During the dispute, the male damaged a door in the residence.  He was arrested for the offence of mischief and was released later on conditions and given a court date in the future.

Shoplifting

On May 12th, at approximately 3:45 pm, Brockville Police responded to a north end grocery store in regards to a shoplifting complaint.

A 40 year old, local female was arrested and charged with theft under $5000.00  She was released at the scene with a future court date.

Intoxicated Male

On May 11th, 2015 at approximately 10:00 pm, Brockville Police attended the parking lot of a north end gas station in regards to an intoxicated male.

The local, 26 year old, was spoken to by police and was found to be on release conditions for outstanding charges with a condition not to consume alcohol.

On route to the station, the accused began smashing his head against the inside of the cruiser and was taken to the hospital for stitches.  Once at the station, the accused damaged several cells as he refused to settle down.

He was released when sober and charged with breaching his release conditions and mischief in relation to the cell damage.

 

Assault

On May 11th, 2015 at approximately 5:15 pm, Brockville Police responded to an assault complaint at a north end apartment complex.

A local, 22 year female and her boyfriend had a friend over and they were consuming alcohol. The local, 31 year old male, accused party, become upset when asked to leave. He assaulted the female and caused damage do the apartment.

The male has been identified and is being sought by police.  The victim did not receive any type of treatment for her injuries.

 

Scam

On May 11th, 2015 at approximately 4:25 pm, Brockville Police took a fraud complaint from one of our senior citizens.

The victim received a phone call from a young male claiming to be his son was looking for bail money.  This is one of the popular scams and in this case the fraudster was successful in obtaining a large sum of money.

We remind the public once again to look out for these things and to never get involved in the transfer of money to anyone unless you have spoke to friends or family members.

 

House Fire

On May 11th, at approximately 1:45 pm, Brockville Police with the Brockville Fire Department responded to a house fire at 30 Havelock St.

The house was destroyed as a result and the cause has yet to be determined. No one was home at the time and Victim Services was called in to assist the residents of the damaged home.

Assault

On May 10th, at approximately 11:10 pm, Brockville Police responded to an assault complaint outside a pool hall on Broad St.

At the scene police dealt with the 40 year old, local victim who had been jumped and “sucker punched” while exiting the establishment.

A short time later, police located the responsible party several blocks away.  The local, 30 year old male, known to Police, was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court later today.

The victim required medical attention after he suffered some non-life threatening injuries.

Public Intoxication

On May 10th at approximately 1:40 am, Brockville Police responded to a King St. E. bar after receiving a call of a male attempting to drive while intoxicated.

The 65 year old, local male, was attempting to drive away from the area on his E-bike.  Citizens were having difficulties convincing him not to.  The male was arrested for public intoxication. He was released when sober with a fine.

Breaching Conditions

On May 9th, at approximately 8:00 pm, Brockville Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Wal-Mart in the north end of the city. It was left running with no one around.

Police located a male nearby that was associated to the car. He was found to have been drinking however could not be placed behind the wheel.  The 32 year old male, from Ottawa, was currently facing charges and had a condition not to consume alcohol.  He was arrested and charged with breaching the conditions of his undertaking and released later with a future court date.
