Intoxicated Male

On June 24th at approximately 12:35 am, Brockville Police on general patrol in the north end of the city and noted an intoxicated male on the street.

The local, 20 year old, was arrested and charged with public intoxication after it was determined he could not look after himself.

He was released with a fine when sober.

Unlawfully at Large

On June 21st, Brockville Police were contacted by the Brockville Jail after an inmate failed to show for his weekend sentence.

The local, 41 year old male, now has a warrant in existence for his arrest.

Drug Offences

On June 19th. Brockville Police dealt with a local, 56 year old male, inside a bar on King St.

The male was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine.  He was charged with possession of the drug for the purpose of trafficking and was also on an undertaking at the time and was breaching conditions associated to same.

He was released later with a future court date.

Drug Offences

On June 19th at approximately 11:20 pm, Brockville Police stopped a motor vehicle on a north end street and discovered drugs and cash.

A 23 year old male, from the Mallorytown area was the driver. He was charged with possession of cocaine, marijuana and speed for the purpose of trafficking.

He was released later with a future court date.

Two local females, 17 and 19 years of age were also charged with possession of the drugs and also released.

Another local, 23 year old female was charged with the same offence but also was found to be breaching current release conditions as well as her probation order. She was charged with these additional offences.

Lastly, another 19 year old, local male was a fourth passenger in the vehicle. He was charged with the drug offences and facing another charge of sexual assault after trying to force one of the female passengers to hide the drugs on her person.  Police also found him to be in possession of a pair of brass knuckles which are a prohibited weapon for any member of the public.

The drugs and a large quantity of cash were seized.

Impaired Driver

On June 19th at approximately 10:00 pm, Brockville Police responded to the drive-thru area of the KFC restaurant on Jefferson Drive.

Staff were concerned about a vehicle being operated by a possible impaired driver.

Police spoke to the local, 32 year old, male operator and found him to be under the influence of alcohol.  He was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while his ability was impaired and operating a motor vehicle over .08% after his breath samples were analyzed.

The vehicle was towed and his licence suspended for 90 days.  He was released later with a future court date.

Liquor Inspections

In the evening on June 19th, Brockville Police officers joined up with the Brockville Fire Department and members of the Provincial Alcohol and Gaming Office.

Inspections of various licenced establishments were conducted to ensure compliance with various laws and regulations.

No violations were noted during the inspections.

 

Assault

In the mid-afternoon on June 19th, Brockville Police responded to a south end apartment building for an assault complaint.

A 21 year old, female resident, had sexual remarks made to her by another resident who also touched her inappropriately.

The 54 year old, accused neighbor, was arrested and charged with sexual assault.  He was released on conditions and given a future court date.

Escape Lawful Custody

On June 19th at approximately 11:10 am, Brockville Police Special Constables had a prisoner jump from a prisoner van in front of the Brockville Jail who then took off on foot.

The 33 year old male was caught after a short foot pursuit.  A charge of escape lawful custody was laid against the Seeley’s Bay resident and he remains in custody.

Commercial Vehicle Checks

On June 18th, Brockville Police officers teamed up with the Ministry of Transportation to perform checks of commercial vehicles.

Over a three hour period, various charges were laid for violation of safety standards.  Four of the vehicles checked ended up being taken completely out of service for serious mechanical issues.

Movies in the Park

The Brockville Police Service, Youth Volunteer Crew, The Pier and Cross Town Impact are pleased to announce that we will be hosting another Movies In The Park this summer.

The event will take place at Hardy Park every Thursday starting July 2 to August 27, from 6:00-8:30pm, there will be pre-events which includes: youth vendors, live music, virtual magic, games, bouncy castles, art display and much more!  The movies will begin at approximately 8:30pm or dusk. The outdoor movies are a great summer experience for people of all ages and admission and popcorn to this event will be free.

This Thursday from 10am to 3pm there will be a BBQ in front of the Scotiabank on Parkedale Avenue in support of Movies in the Park.  This Thursday we will also be announcing the movies that will be played each week this summer so come out and support this local event!
