Intoxicated Female

On May 29th at approximately 2:30 pm, Brockville Police received a complaint of a female party staggering on the street and almost being struck by a motor vehicle.

The local, 39 year old, was located by Police on a south end street and noted to be intoxicated.  She was arrested for public intoxication and released later when sober with a fine.

 

Intoxicated Male

On May 29th at approximately 12:45 pm, Brockville Police received a report of a male party staggering on the roadway in the south end of town.

Police located the local, 45 year old and found him to be intoxicated.  He was arrested for his own safety and taken into custody.  After sobering up, he was released with a fine.

Suspicious Person

On May 29th, Brockville Police responded to the area of Pearl St. W. and Park St. in relation to a loud male walking around.

The party was located shirtless, intoxicated and had been yelling while touring the streets.  He was found to be breaching a probation order as well as current release conditions for outstanding charges. A further charge of causing a disturbance was also laid.

The local, 20 year old was released later with a future court date.

Bear Sightings

On May 28th, the Brockville Police Service received two phone calls in regards to bear sightings.

The first incident was reported at 7:00 am. and the animal was seen near the fire hall on Laurier Blvd.  The second sighting was reported just after noon as the bear was observed crossing Centennial Rd.  The Ministry of Natural Resources has been notified accordingly.

We encourage the reporting of any sightings to maintain a possible direction of movement.  Obviously, don’t approach the animal and maintain a safe distance. Bears are typically scared of humans but we should always be cautious.  At the time of this release, the animal has not presented any public safety issues.

Trespassing

On May 24th at approximately 8:25 pm, Brockville Police responded to the Trinity Church on George street in regards to trespassers.

Police located and charged four 16 year old, local males with trespassing on the property.

Police would like to remind our youth that the building is posted with signage and is very unsafe.

Police have made efforts to have the owners properly secure the building to discourage entry attempts.

Domestic Dispute

On May 24th, at approximately 7:30 pm, Brockville Police responded to what was reported as a domestic dispute at a downtown residence.

Police discovered the residence was being occupied by a lone male who was having personal difficulties.  The local, 27 year was taken to the Brockville General Hospital for assistance.  There was no criminal element to the situation.

 

Theft

On May 24th at approximately 11:30 am, Brockville Police took a theft complaint from an address on Pearl St. W.

Police are looking for suspects in the theft of a ten foot, Zodiak raft. The raft has a fiberglass bottom, grey in colour with a black stripe. It was taken overnight from the driveway of the residence. Please contact Police if you have any information that may help.

Public Intoxication

On May 24th at approximately 12:40 am,  Brockville Police observed a male party near King St. W. and Courthouse Avenue who was intoxicated and drawing attention to himself.

The local, 22 year old was arrested for his safety.  He was also released later the same day when sober and was issued a fine as well.

 

Public Intoxication

On May 24th at approximately 12:30 am,  Brockville Police observed an intoxicated male on Courthouse Avenue.

The local, 23 year old was arrested for his own safety.  He was released later that day when sober and issued a fine.

Break and Enter

On May 22nd, at approximately 12:35 pm, Brockville Police took a complaint of a break and enter to a boat at Block House Island.

The owner believes sometime overnight on the 20th/21st, unknown subjects entered the boat and took alcohol as well as causing minor damage.

Police are asking anyone who may have information to contact us.
