Family Dispute

On January 28th, Brockville Police responded to a family dispute at a residence in the center of town.

A local, 20 year old male was suffering from some mental health issues. He was taken by Police to the Brockville General Hospital for an assessment.

Shoplifting

On January 28th, Brockville Police responded to a theft complaint at Walmart on Parkedale Ave.

A local, 22 year old male was arrested and charged with Theft Under. He was released with a future court date.

Search Warrant

Brockville Police also executed a search warrant at a south end residence this morning.

This investigation results from an investigation of a Kijiji ad. A local, 51 year old male was arrested and charged with Personation and Luring offences.  He will appear in bail court later today.

Search Warrant

Brockville Police, both uniform and detective officers , executed a search warrant at a residence in the center of town.

Officers recovered stolen property connected to the break and enter to “The Many Things Store” on January 5th. A local, 22 year old male has been arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and breaching an outstanding probation order. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court this afternoon.

Stolen Vehicle

On January 27th, Brockville Police took a complaint of a stolen vehicle from the driveway of a north end residence. The vehicle had been left idling in the driveway while the owner was within the residence for a short duration.

At 10:50 pm., Police located the vehicle being driven in the city and a short pursuit commenced.

A local, 19 year old male was arrested and charged with numerous offences related to failing to stop for police, possession of the vehicle and breaching outstanding release conditions. He was held in custody and will appear in bail court later today.

Police would like to remind people of the risk involved when leaving running vehicles unattended.

Kijiji Purchase Scam

The victim placed an ad on Kijiji and lists the price. He then received a response from an interested party and an agreement to purchase is made and the ad is removed from Kijiji. The cheque for payment was then shipped only to have the scammer email a short time later saying the office staff had made a clerical error and there was an overpayment on the cheque sent and asked the victim to cash the cheque and ship the scammer back the difference. At this point the victim became suspicious and contacted the police and the cheque was learned to be counterfeit. Had the cheque been cashed at the bank and the money sent the victim would have been at a loss for the item on Kijiji, the amount of the cheque and the difference sent back to the scammer.

Break and Enter Arrest

A 17 year old male young offender charged last week in relation to the Break and Enter to “The Many Things Stores” was found by Brockville Police breaching his release conditions by being out past his curfew and arrested and charged with Breach of his Undertaking.

Missing Person Located

A missing 48 year old male from Kingston was located in Brockville on Saturday, January 24th, at the Travelodge in good health. His family and friends were advised.

Theft from Unlocked Locker at YMCA

A quantity of money was taken from an unlocked locker at the YMCA on Saturday, January 24th. The victim is a young student visiting Brockville. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brockville Police or Crimestoppers

Break and Enter Arrest

An 18 yearr old adult male was charged with Break, Enter and Theft and Breaching his Recognizance in relation to the January 5th break-in to “The Many Things Store”. This brings the total number of persons charged in relation to this incident to four.
