June 19 – 21, 2020 News Release

Domestic Dispute

On June 19th, 2020 at 7:30 AM the Brockville Police Service responded to a 911 call for a domestic incident in the city’s south end.  The caller stated that she had observed an incident involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.  The victim, a 24 year old female, was in an argument with a 30 year old male.  The male had gotten into a vehicle with her purse and began to drive away.  The female kept hanging on to the vehicle being dragged and eventually fell.  She received non-life threatening injuries and was brought to the Brockville General Hospital for treatment.  The male surrendered to police on Sunday June 21st.  He has been arrested and charged with theft under $5000 and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

 Bail Violations

On the 21st of June, 2020 at 8:00 PM, police were contacted by the complainant who informed police that 36 year old male was presently at her residence contrary to his bail conditions.  Police attended the residence and located the male.  He was arrested without incident and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Drugs

On the 21st of June 2020 at 2:00 AM, officers from the Brockville Police Service stopped a vehicle with expired validation on George St.  The 53 year old female driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.  The vehicle was also occupied by a 33 year old male and a 33 year old female.  A bag of crack cocaine was located in the vehicle.  The male and the 53 year old female were charged with being in possession of a controlled substance. 

Dangerous Drive

On June 19th at 3:00 PM the Brockville Police Service responded to several 911 calls for a motor vehicle collision at 125 Stewart Boulevard.  A 34 year old female repeatedly drove her vehicle into a parked vehicle containing two occupants. The vehicle belonged to her ex-boyfriend (the victim).  That victim was inside the Beer Store when the collision occurred.  After reversing away from the vehicle, the ex-boyfriend exited the store and rushed to the driver’s window of the accused’s vehicle trying to stop her.  The accused attempted to flee the scene with the victim standing on the driver’s side running board.  The accused then struck a chain-link fence on the property just to the east of the parking lot.  The victim fell to the ground and the accused fled the area in her vehicle.  She was located by officers in the vehicle on Highway 401.  She was arrested and charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop after an accident and failing to comply with a probation order. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 Arrest Stolen Vehicle

On the 12th of April 2020 police investigated a stolen vehicle complaint from the rear of Pizza Pizza on Parkedale Ave.  Through investigation a warrant was obtained for a 39 year old male from the Kingston area.  The male was arrested in Toronto on unrelated offences and turned over to the Brockville Police Service on June 19th.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

 Other news

Several more arrests were made on the weekend in relation to warrants that had been issued. 

A RIDE program was conducted with that resulted in several charges being laid in relation to open liquor in motor vehicles. 

June 15th Theft

Theft

The Brockville Police Service is seeking the identity of a suspect involved in a theft of a package from a Pine Street address on June 15th at 1230 hours.  The suspect is described male white, 40 years of age, brown hair and beard. He was wearing a ball cap, black muscle shirt, red and black shorts riding a black mountain bike.  Please contact Cst. June 15 – 16, 2020 News Release

Assault

On June 15th 2020, just after 2:20 in the afternoon the Brockville Police responded to an assault on Kensington Parkway.  Police discovered an altercation had taken place between roommates, with 46 year old male receiving a superficial stab wound to the arm.  As a result officers located a 24 year old female.  She was charged with one count of assault with a weapon.  When she was arrested she was in possession of brass knuckles, which are a prohibited weapon.  She faces an additional count of possession of a prohibited weapon.  She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Theft

The Brockville Police Service is seeking witnesses regarding a theft that occurred overnight at Laurier Self Storage on Laurier Blvd.  Suspect(s) entered the secure storage facility by cutting the fence.  Once inside a 15 horsepower outboard motor was removed.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Brockville Police Service at 613-342-0127 ext. 6077 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Bail Violations

On June 15th at 3:46 PM officers observed a 17 year old female breaching her release conditions.  The female was associating with a subject that she was prohibited from being with.  She was arrested and charged with breaching her court ordered conditions.  She was released with a future court date.

 

June 14 – 15, 2020 News Release

Drugs

Just after midnight on June 14th, 2020 the Brockville Police Service conducted a traffic stop in the downtown area.  The 29 year old male driver was operating a motor vehicle on Buell St. with a suspended licence.  Further investigation led police to the seizure of morphine, hydromorphone, methamphetamine, and a large sum of cash.  The Brockville resident was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.  The male was released from custody with a future court date.

June 10 – 11, 2020 News Release

Theft

On June 10th, 2020 at 3:00 PM the Brockville Police Service responded to the Metro grocery store on King St. West for a theft complaint.  The loss prevention officer had observed a 21 year old female select a quantity of merchandise and exit the store without any attempt to pay.  She was arrested, returned to the store and police were contacted.  The female was charged with engaging in a prohibited activity under the “Trespass to Property Act” and released.

Weapons/Drugs

On June 10th, 2020 at 4:15 PM the Brockville Police Service responded to a weapons call at Winners on Parkedale Ave.   A 28 year old male had picked up a knife in the store and made threats towards staff members.  Officers attended and arrested the male without incident.  He was searched incident to arrest and officers discovered a quantity of crystal methamphetamine.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing facing charges of weapons dangerous, breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance.

 

June 8 – 10, 2020 News Release

Theft

On June 8th, 2020 at 1:23 PM police responded to Richard’s Coffee House for a theft complaint.  A suspect had taken the tip jar from the counter inside the restaurant.  The security footage was provided to the investigating officer who identified the suspect.  The 46 year old male was then located and arrested for theft.  He was released with a future court date.

Assault

A 21 year old female is facing a charge of assault after a dispute in a parking lot became physical.  On June 8th at 7 PM police responded to a Glenn Wood Place address in response to the disturbance.  As a result of the investigation the 21 year old was charged with assault on a 25 year old female and a 29 year old male. 

 

 

 

June 5 – 7, 2020 News Release

Theft:

On June 7th, 2020 at 2:30 pm the Brockville Police responded to Shoppers Drug Mart at the 1000 Islands Mall.  Staff called to report a theft in progress.  Police arrived and arrested two Mississauga men.  Incident to the arrest a search of their vehicle led police to lay further charges.  A 45 year old man faces one count of possession of stolen property over $5000, while a 48 year old male was charged with one count of theft under $5000, one count of possession of stolen property over $5000, and one count of breaching a release order.  They were held for a bail hearing.

Disturb the Peace

On June 6th 2020 at 6:30 am the Brockville Police received a call of a disturbance on Pearl Street.  Upon arrival, officers learned a family dispute had occurred.  As a result an 18 year old male was charged with mischief under $5000, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.  He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Disturb the Peace

On June 5th 2020 the Brockville Police received a call of a disturbance near Kensington Parkway.  Police spoke to numerous witnesses and learned a 20 year old male was breaching his release conditions.  The Brockville resident was arrested and charged with one count of breach of undertaking and held for a bail hearing.

Suspicious Person/Weapons

On the evening of June 5th 2020 the Brockville Police received calls of a man dressed in black, saying he had a gun in the downtown area.  Witnesses were able to point out the suspect to officers.  Through investigation it was determined he did not have a gun, but he was armed with a knife.  A 24 year old Brockville resident was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and four counts of breaching his probation.

June 3 – 4, 2020 News Release

Traffic Complaint:

A project targeting speeding, stunt driving and improper mufflers resulted in 24 charges under the Highway Traffic Act and several warnings.  The enforcement took place over the last weekend in May and primarily focused on the downtown core.  This will be an ongoing endeavor to curb erratic driving and noise.

Bail Violations

On the 3rd of June 2020 at 11:20 a.m. officers on routine patrol located a male that was wanted by our service for a breach of a court order.  He was located on Front Street riding a skate board and arrested.  A search incident to arrest led to further charges for possession of stolen property.  The male was found with stolen cheques that have been tied to a recent occurrence of uttering a forged document. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Theft

On June 3rd, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. officers responded to reports of a break and enter on Keefer St.  Officers were able to identify a 33 year old suspect from that occurrence and located him at a King St. West residence at 6:00 p.m.  The male was arrested at that time for break and enter.  The male was in possession of stolen property that officers have linked to two other occurrences.  He has been charged with multiple property offences and held in custody for a bail hearing.

Warrants

On June 3rd 2020 at 7:50 p.m. the Brockville Police Service responded to a call for service about a female standing with a hatchet outside of an apartment building on Laurier Blvd.   Officers located the 36 year old female who was in possession of the hatchet.  She had been using it to chop a stump on the lawn.  The 36 year old female did have a warrant for her arrest for failing to comply with a probation order.  That female was arrested, charged and release with a future court date.

A second 37 year old female was located in the area that also had a warrant out for her arrest for failing to attend court.  She was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing. 

June 1 – 2, 2020 News Release

Mischief

Over the past two weeks the Brockville Police Service has been investigating a string of mischiefs in the north end of the city.  On June 1st, 2020 police arrested a 39 year old male from Brockville responsible for the damage.  Officers had responded to reports of tires being slashed in the Kensington Parkway and Cartier Court area since May 19th.  The accused faces two counts of mischief under $5000 and was held pending a bail hearing on Tuesday.

May 26 – 28, 2020 News Release

Break and Enter

On Tuesday, May 26th, 2020, the Brockville Police were called to a break and enter that occurred on Buell Street.  The break in occurred during daylight hours and when the homeowner was present.  The suspect is described as an agile young male between 13 and 17 years old, approximately 5’4” with wavy brown hair.  The Brockville Police remind you to keep your doors locked. 

Arrest Warrant

On May 26th, 2020 the Brockville Police were called to a noise complaint at a King Street address.  As a result officers located a 38 year old Brockville man who was wanted for not abiding by his judicial release order.  He was held for a bail hearing.
