Wanted Person

On February 12th, Brockville Police on general patrol on Buell St. Officers observed a 54 year old, local male who was wanted in another jurisdiction.

The male was arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrants and later turned over to the Kingston Police Service. The charges out of Kingston are for offences that took place in their area.

Assault Complaint

On February 12th, Brockville Police responded to an assault complaint in the south end of the city.

A 38 year old, local male was assaulted and suffered minor injuries which did not require medical attention. Police are now looking to locate a local, 47 year old male. He faces charges of assault and breach of probation.

Recovered Vehicle

On February 8th, Brockville Police recovered a vehicle north of the city that had been reported stolen earlier this year.

The vehicle was partially buried in the snow and it appears there were two sets of tracks leading from the vehicle. The plates had been removed from the vehicle. This incident is still under investigation and no other information is being released at this time.

Highway Traffic Act Charges

On February 7th, Brockville Police were on general patrol and stopped a vehicle on Parkedale Ave. that had an equipment failure.

The 34 year old, male driver, was found to be a disqualified driver due to convictions for Dangerous Driving and numerous charges of driving while disqualified. The Madoc area man was released with a future court date. The vehicle was impounded and will remain so under the Highway Traffic Act.

Domestic Assault

On February 7th, Brockville Police responded to a domestic assault complaint at a residence in the south area of town.

The male party involved had left the residence prior to police arrival. Police spoke to the involved female at the residence and then began searching for the male. His vehicle was located parked outside of a bar in the downtown area. Police located the male inside the bar and arrested him without incident. A search of his vehicle turned up two firearms which were deemed to be stored in an unsafe manner. The guns were seized.

The 45 year old victim suffered no injuries as a result of the incident. The local , 47 year old male was charged with, Mischief and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm.

He was remanded into custody and will appear in bail court.

Domestic Assault

On February 6th, Brockville Police responded to a domestic assault complaint in the center area of town.

The 33 year old, female victim was not injured in the incident. The 31 year old, local male had left the residence prior to police arrival. He was dealt with later the same night and charged with assault and mischief. He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Shoplifting

On February 6th, Brockville Police responded to the Walmart store on Parkedale Ave. in regards to a shoplifting complaint.

An 18 year old, local male was arrested and charged with Theft Under. He was released with a future court date.

Shoplifting

On February 6th, Brockville Police responded to the Superstore on Parkedale Ave. in regards to a shoplifting complaint.

A 36 year old female and a 28 year old male, both of Brockville, were located nearby after fleeing the area. They face charges of Theft Under and Possession of Stolen Property. Both were released with a future court date.

Warrant

On February 5th, Brockville Police attended the Ottawa airport to pick up a male passenger who was vacationing in the south. While on board his return flight, the 43 year old was causing problems for flight staff.

Authorities dealt with the subject when the flight landed and discovered a warrant for him out of Brockville for Assault in 2002. The assault charge was domestic in nature. He was held for a bail hearing.

Unwanted Female

On February 4th, Brockville Police responded to the Brockville General Hospital in regards to an unwanted female.

The local, 39 year old was causing problems for staff and was in an intoxicated state. She was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and held till sober. The subject received a fine when released.
