Domestic Dispute

On June 18, 2014 police were called to the Kensington Plaza parking lot to investigate a domestic dispute involving a young couple. Police located the couple shortly after at a nearby apartment complex. It was learned that at 8:25 p.m. the couple arrived at the lot already arguing. The disturbance escalated to the point when the female spit at the male, followed by a punch to his face and kicking him. The male victim had a bloody nose as a result. Police have arrested the 24 year old female of North Augusta area. She was charged with assault and released with a later court date.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Police are seeking any witnesses to a collision that occurred June 11th at 16:10 hours at the intersection of Parkedale Ave. and the 1000 Islands Mall (Staples entrance). Two vehicles were involved in collision and there were not any injuries.

Impaired Driving

On Saturday 07 June at approximately 9:37 p.m., a call from a concerned citizen about a possible impaired driver was received. The white Ford Escape exited Stewart Blvd east bound on the 401 and was stopped by Brockville officers shortly there after. A 22yr old male from Kemptville was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Driving with Over the Legal Limit of Alcohol in his Blood. His vehicle was impounded for seven days and he was released on a Promise to Appear with a future court date.

Assault and Breach of Probation

On Sunday 08 Jun at approximately 11:31 p.m. city police were made aware of a possible stand off between youths in the Jefferson Dr/Stewart Blvd area. The youths were located and a potential dangerous situation averted. Through the course of the investigation it was learned that the opposing parties had clashed at least twice over the weekend and were planning to settle the matter. A 17yrs old male from Brockville was arrested and charged with Assault and Breach of Probation. He was subsequently released on an Officer in Charge Undertaking with a future court date. Two expandable batons, a ball peen hammer, a mini bat and some drug paraphernalia were seized.

Liquor Licence Offences

An adult male and female were also arrested for their own protection in separate incidents over the weekend for being Intoxicated in a Public Place. Both were issued tickets under the Liquor Licence Act and were released when sober.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Brockville Police are investigating a motor vehicle collission that occurred Friday June 6th, at approx. 3:00 p.m.

The accident took place at Oxford Ave. and Broadway Ave. One of the vehicles left the scene and police are looking to speak to the driver for information gathering purposes at this time. The vehicle was described as a late 80’s Chevrolet product, possibly a Caprice. The vehicle is black in colour with a torn vinyl green top. The vehicle may have damage to the passenger side.

There were no injuries involved in the accident.

Physical and Sexual Abuse

On Monday June 2, 2014 a 22 year-old female Brockville resident attended to the Brockville Police Service and reported a series of incidents of physical and sexual abuse since 2005 when she was a high school student at St. Mary High School in Brockville and continued until recently. Detectives interviewed this victim at length about the allegations and as a result commenced an investigation learning incidents occurred at school, during field trips, via text messages and over various social networking sites on the internet.

The inquiries resulted in detectives executing a search warrant at the accused

Criminal Harassment

On the 22nd of May, 2014, the Brockville Police Service was contacted by Brant County OPP in relation to a 21 year-old female victim residing in their jurisdiction who had attended to their detachment and advised she was being harassed via text message and over the internet, and the suspect was believed to reside in Brockville. They had conducted some follow up investigation which corroborated the victim

Disturbance

On June 3, 2014 shortly before 9:00 p.m. Brockville Police were called to a Kensington Parkway apartment complex to investigate a disturbance complaint. Police learned that a young couple had been yelling and screaming at each other disturbing the residents of the complex. Even as police intervened the female party continued to yell. The female youth from Brockville was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace. She was held in custody until cooler heads prevailed and released with no charges.

5 Year Old Returned Safely

On 31 May 2014 at approximately 2:00 p.m. the Brockville Police Service received a call regarding a five year old boy who had been seen in the area of Central Av and Ferguson Dr running in and out of the busy roadway. Witnesses described the boy as appearing confused and panicked. A local resident attempted to assist the boy, but he continued to run randomly about and would not respond to the man.

Within minutes officers were in the area and were able to assist the five year old on Ferguson Dr. His identity was determined and he was quickly and safely returned to his family. The boy was being looked after by a family member who’s attention was briefly elsewhere when the boy left the house and yard on his own.
