Stolen Vehicle

Brockville Police are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle sometime after 7:30 p.m. on May 26, 2014. The complainant explained that he had parked his vehicle at that time in its assigned area at 44Central Avenue. It was not until the next morning that he realized the vehicle was missing and contacted police. The vehicle is described as a 2002 Kia Spectra, silver in colour bearing Ontario licence plate #ASJH706.

Brockville Police learned that the same vehicle is the subject of a gas run off theft in Gananoque at about 1:03 a.m. A lone male suspect was caught on video in Gananoque. He is described as 5

Community Service

While on general patrol shortly after midnight on May 27, 2014 a Brockville Police officer noted a young lady on Stewart Boulevard near Front Avenue. She was swaying and appeared to be in danger of falling down. The officer stopped to check on her well being and discovered that she was extremely intoxicated by alcohol. While dealing with her she fell against the police cruiser however the officer was able to take her into custody for her own safety. The 20 year old Elizabethtown-Kitley resident was lodged in the cells until sober and released with a ticket for public intoxication.

Aggressive Salespersons

The Brockville Police Service has been receiving reports of aggressive salespersons operating in the Brockville area recently and is urging citizens to be cautious and to ask questions.

In the first incident, a caller posing as a security officer for Microsoft contacted a local resident saying that her virus protection was out of date. She was asked for a credit card number and then asked to go to her computer and perform several steps, while they were on the phone, to update this security system. The caller was in fact not from Microsoft and was disabling the victim

Search Warrant – Broadway Ave.

Last evening at approximately 730pm members of the Brockville Police Service conducted a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a residence on Broadway Ave. During a search of the residence officers recovered a number of items from recent reported thefts in the Brockville area.

As a result of the warrant the adult female and adult male residents were charged with possession of stolen property. In addition the female was further charged with possession of a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Both were released from custody on a Promise to Appear with a court date of June 20th at Brockville Provincial Court.

Assault

On May 15, 2014 at about 9:40 a.m. a male subject drove to a Cartier Court address to pick up a female friend. At the same time another female approached the vehicle and tried to get into it however was refused. The females argued briefly ending with the unwanted female kicking the other lady several times. The parties were separated temporarily however met again. The female suspect continued her bizarre behavior by punching and kicking the male subject

Assault

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. on May 12, 2014 a male subject went to his ex-girlfriend

Mischief and Weapons

On May 10, 2014 at 11:30 p.m. a male subject was at his Cartier Court home involved in an argument with his common-law partner. Both had been consuming alcohol. During the argument the male subject was extremely upset, punching a hole in a bedroom door. The female decided to leave followed closely by the male subject. The argument continued into the parking lot where two people intervened. The male subject left but returned with a bat and chased the two subjects that had confronted him earlier. Police were contacted and attended. The 29 year old Brockville man was arrested and charged with mischief and possession of weapons dangerous. He will appear in court at a later date.

Search Warrant at Cartier Court

This morning shortly after 6 a.m. members of the Brockville Police, Ontario Provincial Police and Gananoque Police Service Joint Forces Drug Project assisted by the Brockville Police Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a residence at Cartier Court.

An adult female and a 33-year old male were arrested inside. The male had an outstanding arrest warrant from Montreal for robbery.

One person was treated for minor cuts to his hand by EMS and released.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time, and officers remain on scene.

Bail Violations

Since December 2013 a male suspect has been arrested and charged for numerous criminal code offences on three separate occasions. Each time he was released from custody with various bail conditions. On May 6, 2014 Brockville Police were called to a King Street East apartment only to find the same suspect in a tirade. He was yelling, swearing and throwing items throughout the apartment causing a disturbance for neighbours. Officers noted that he was obviously intoxicated, therefore he was placed under arrest. The 25 year old Brockville man has been charged with numerous bail related offences. He will appear in bail court on May 6, 2014.

Public Intoxication

After a night out on the town a young man attended the William Street Tim Hortons, possibly in an effort to sober up on a cup of coffee. The plan failed and the man passed out in the restaurant. Police were contacted at 1:34 a.m. on May 4, 2014 and found the man to be extremely intoxicated. His father was contacted and attended. The 21 year old Lyn man was taken home where his family could ensure his safety.
