Disturbance

In the early morning hours of August 12, Police responded to an unknown disturbance at an address in the center of town.

The police dealt with a male party at the residence who was under release conditions for previous charges. He was found to be consuming alcohol and not keeping the peace which was a breach of his release documents.

The 59 year old, local male was arrested and charged with Breach of his Undertaking X 2 counts. He will appear in bail court later today.

Police responded an hour later to same residence as above for further issues involving another male in the residence.

A 54 year old, local male was removed from the residence to prevent a further breach of the peace. He was released later the same day unconditionally.

Suspicious Couple

On August 11, Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious couple on King St. W.

The pair were trying to buy clothing at a downtown business however the credit cards they were in possession of were being declined for different reasons. The transaction was not completed.

Wanted – Christopher Merkley

The Brockville Police Service is currently trying to locate, Christopher Merkley, 36 years of age.

At approximately 10:00 am. on this date, Merkley confronted a male and a female riding their bikes on Water St. An altercation ensued which involved the female being assaulted and the male threatened with a weapon.

A warrant has been obtained and Merkely is wanted for Threats, Assault, Weapons Dangerous and Assault with a Weapon.

Injuries were minor in nature and no medical attention was sought.

Driving while Prohibited

On August 8th, Police observed a local male driving through Hardy park on an E-Bike. The male was found to be a prohibited driver under the criminal code.

The 44 yr. old was charged with Driving while Prohibited and given a future court date.

Liquor Offence

On August 8th, Police responded to a north end apartment complex in regards to a male party passed out near the rear door.

A local 53 yr. old male was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication. He was released when sober and issued a fine.

Suspicious Vehicle

On August 9th, Police responded to a suspicious vehicle and driver in the parking lot of a north end apartment complex.

While dealing with the driver, it was noted she had consumed alcohol. She would not however supply a sample of her breath when requested to do so. The local, 74 yr. old female was charged with Failing to Provide a Sample into a Roadside Screening Device.

She was released at the scene with a future court date.

Public Intoxication

In the early morning hours of August 10th, Police responded to an apartment complex on Stewart Blvd. in regards to a male party trying to enter different apartments.

Police found a 26 year. old male within the building who was very intoxicated and thought he was at a different building.

He was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication, released when sober and issued a fine.

Public Intoxication

On August 10th, Police discovered an intoxicated male in the back parking lot of the Police Station.

A 33 year old local male was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication. He was released when sober with a fine.

Many of our local youth tried their luck landing some fish with the aid of many officers and civilians from the Brockville Police Service.
A great day was experienced by all!!

Impaired Driving

On August 9th, Police stopped a vehicle in the area of the Royal Brock Hotel on Stewart Blvd.

The 52 yr. old non-local female driver was noted to have consumed alcohol. After breath tests were concluded, charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Operating a Motor Vehicle Over .08% were laid.

She was released from custody when sober with a future court date.
